Hey any updates on this? Would love to play the ps2 game with all the character descriptions & dialogue translated - it adds a lot of personality to the game Still using the same incomplete patch not sure if there's been a more updated one released since then.
Hi Everyone, I kind of got impatient waiting for work to finish on this translation and went ahead and tried to get something workable for us. I could not have done any of this without the information that xXDungeon_CrawlerXx had found and done to get his translation where it was.
I have a working and 99% complete translated version of this game currently that I intend to release in some manner over the next week or two. All that is left to translate are some graphics of lesser importance.
Full disclosure: This was heavily assisted by Claude Code, so if that is a point of contention this may not be the release for you, and I would wait for the one from xXDungeon_CrawlerXx as it will be the one with all the love baked in.
Fishy guy said it would of been dropped two weeks ago now without any update or nothing. To be honest i'd expect the switch 2 to get CFW before a translation of this game will happen. Guess I'll go back to working on things again. I'll join the band wagon and hopefully release something. This is technically my first time messing with pre-compiled files, but I've worked with Unity in the past.

I did say that it was coming 2 weeks ago. And it really was supposed to but life sure does have a way of getting in the way of fun.
I tried to get the online multiplayer working on both emulator and vita and playing between the two for a few days afterwards. I have played complete games between emu and vita over the internet, and I've almost got it finished believe it or not! So ill also be releasing that when its actually working a lil better than the prototype I have. (Its just kind of a drag to get it to work with port forwarding or VPN style setups and I just got NAT punch through working but having desync issues. So stay tuned! ). So there is a world where in the next few weeks i release a patch for online play, with a relay server pre configured for match making/room creation if I can get it working to the point I want it.
I found a random ps4 patch out there in the wild while looking around at info for the ps4 version of the game. Not sure how that is set up or how he's doing it but I thought you guys might find that neat.

Oh I forgot to mention, if you are playing on vita3k there is a weird transparency bug I couldn't figure out with vulkan that puts a weird red bar on screen and doesn't mask the characters body. OpenGL doesn't have this issue but it does have an issue with rendering some textures overly blue.
The solution was to render with vulkan with export textures enabled within vita3k, then copy those exported textures to the import folder and import them into OpenGL. This corrected the color on any of those textures.
Its still not perfect but that definitely helps a lot of the weird graphic problems.

holy moly it is the promised day, thank you so much for this. Is this PS4 version of your patch up to date, or actively maintained? I would love to have a concurrent patch for both versions going and would be happy to maintain a PS4 version, on your behalf, if desired. All the best.

There are some half decent general instructions in the zips for real hardware and for the emulator, if you run into any issues post em here and Ill do my best to help!
It loads perfect base+update in real Vita. I just played a game. Great intro, BTW.
I didn't have the same luck with the DLC, though.
Here are my steps:
1. Base game + update
2. Added the translation to RePatch Folder.
3. Downloaded the DLCs from NPS and got like 12 including ACCONVVITADQ11XX, which I think is already decrypted.
4. Copied the DLC to Addcont and ReAddcont only the ACCONVVITADQ11XX folder.
5. Added the patch to the ReAddcont.
6. Error
7. Deleted the ReAddcont and loads, but no DLC.

Awesome share mate! I am a bit sad as I started to work on this as well. lol. Either way great job on the release! P.S the "red bar" happens also in OPENGL on Vita3K (don't think its a apple issue, but it happens there and a linux build)

Based on your pics I think I uploaded a zip that had accidental regression. That should be translated and that course shouldn't be bleeding over. Ill update the zip right now.

You probably need to decrypt the dlc, as anything downloaded from nps are encrypted content and repatch only uses decrypted files. I was getting a crash on boot too if that helps
I did it guys! I got a game going and NAT punchthrough worked. So the game actually runs pretty good in multiplayer. I am going to polish up the experience a bit, and fix some of the multiplayer menu items that are poorly formatted and release the multi player patch. Im not sure exactly when, but im hoping to be fast about it this time haha.

This one's mostly polish on the multiplayer menus, but I also managed to get player name support bumped up to 9 characters.
There are two optional extras in this release:
Multiplayer patch - Heads up: apply this one LAST. English base and DLC patch go first, then this.
Custom Vita3K build - This enables Vita-to-emulator multiplayer, plus it fixes the red bar that shows up when NPCs talk and sorts out the transparency issue.
Also included is a broker.txt file that points to the server hosting the multiplayer matchmaker. I'll release the matchmaker itself eventually, but for now it's living on that server.
Quick note on how matchmaking works: "Anyone Welcome" and "Friends Only" are two separate things. Anyone Welcome is more randomized matchmaking, while Friends Only works more like a host/client setup where you pick from a list of rooms.
I also put together a web interface so you can see who's online and help get matches going: Itadaki Street Online Lobby. There's a chat on the main page, or you can click into a specific game to chat with people in the context of that game.
Awesome stuff! Wow this version looks like a huge upgrade from the PS2 version. I don't have a vita but I was thinking of getting a PSTV for a while and this makes me want to get it even more haha... Would this game work if I were to play it through a modded PSTV console w/the english patch applied? Thanks!
