Hi guys,

Is the game save file located in the micro sd card or the sd card? Also, approximately how big is an average save file say for like Pokemon X, Professor Layton, Harvest Moon etc.

Thanks so much!

I am probably wrong but i believe EmuNAND games like pokemon save the file on the actual microsd. because ive had issues with pokemon restarting the save over and over - the only way i can get it to progress is to load into gateway mode... which means emunand... which means... SD card. dont know about sizes i never looked for them.

Yes, you are wrong.
Firstly, Pokemon is a NAND save game, it has nothing to do with emunand.
NAND save games store the save file inside of the rom itself, but won't actually write the save until you exit the game, so if your battery dies even though you tried to save, it doesn't actually get saved.

oooh... i see. That does make sense. I had a bunch of problems with unsaved progress and i figured it was because i was trying to load it from NAND and not emunand, but i guess it was just because i didn't quit all the way or w/e...

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.

Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.

It was like all clear and fancy. Tbf I'm not too experienced with chess, but would like to learn someday.
