That is assuming that it is a complex serial number. I'm hoping that it would be something like XMD00001 and XMD00002 etc etc. Can anyone investigate into this?
Serial numbers usually have checksums in the end (usually 1-2 numbers). You can never change 1 bit and not break checksum (unless checksum did not change).

I know, just re-confirming the information.
If only I can add my own ID in...

I redumped my MK7, because my previous dump caused the game save corrupt.
(previous dump made on GW 2.1 Omega, not sure if that made a difference).

After that, I renamed the MK save to the weird numbered save.
(0004000000030800.sav)

My MK7 is of the US release.
Can confirm this works with EUR version too. I had the same problem with the save not working with my ROM dump from 2.0 Omega but after redumping ROM and renaming to .3DZ it works.

is that possible i use from the .3DZ Dumped Rom which another body have dumped ?(online play)

is that dangerous ?

thanks

I tried importing the header from my New Super Mario Bros 2 catridge into the Mario Kart 7 scene release and I get the message "An Error has occurred..." similar to playing SDK5 games on 1.2.

Also get a corrupted save when backing up my New Super Mario Bros rom and save and trying to play it.

yeah i just realized my error with saying the mario kart save didnt work with my ownd dump.....it actually does work fine, i screwed up and renamed my ocarina of time save :wtf:

so yeah it appears you can use your saves from your retail cart with gateway too....not sure how the likes of ocarina of time would go down as the save file is smaller, cba dumping the game atm

many can. Have a look to releases done just few days after the omega release. many dumps got the data included.

I have already thought of that, have tested Mario Golf allsorts, none work for me keep getting invalid error. Some sort of list needs making of scene releases that work.

cearp, So after looking at my dump of Pokemon Y, it generated the ROM dump and a .sav file (which is 0 bytes in size) on the SD card. Upon transferring the ROM over to my microSD card and starting it up, the save already in the ROM registers as corrupt. So even though the save dumps with the ROM, it doesn't matter in the end. Not really surprised in the end, but worth a shot.
oh sorry, i could have told you that, sure people have tried this ever since gateway let us dump our games. i was just wondering about the save backup and restore feature, simply just to use it for my retail cart, not the game backup :)
i dumped my game cart (to get the save file) so that i could extract .pkx files from my game, which i did. also it could be used to extract wondercard data, i'm pretty sure :)
the save encryption that pokemon is supposed to use is not supported by gateway (since it uses stuff from 4.5), and i guess there is another reason the dumped saves might not work with gateway too, i'm not sure.

If Smealum made it possible to run homebrew on Gateway, I hope we'll get an update which will allow us taking screenshots! This was a feature I was most excited about when he showcased his 3DS experiments.

I click on download and it still shows and downloads the 2.1 also all their mirrors are taken down as well so idk whats going on

The downloads are there under the downloads page. try to use a cache refresh (CTRL + F5) at the download page. The site is rather slow at the moment though.

I just pulled the site back up and all I see are links to 2.2. Your guess is as good as mine as to why you are seeing an old version of the site. Anyway, go to the official support thread listed on their site. You can find ways to get what you need there.
