OK guys. I finished my 3DS! First I changed the orientation from my concept to make it seem more like it more like the special edition 3DS's released by Nintendo. I applied a custom printed waterslide decal (the kind that are put on model cars and airplanes). I changed the "power" LED to green, the "charging" one to white, and the "Wi-Fi" LED to blue. It's on firmware 4.5.0-10U, so I of course also installed a micro USB port. What do you guys think?

I meant the LED change and the hardware mod. Also, do the LED change to red when the console is dieing?

He also has custom LED's. His has a green power LED, and a purple Wi-Fi. They do still turn red when low on battery. Technically the XL has 4 LED's. Low battery (stock red), Power (stock blue), Charging (stock orange), Wi-Fi (stock yellow), and Notifiaction (stock RGB, or color changing). The only one I can not change is the Notification LED. I charge $5 per LED plus shipping and PayPal fees. I can get blue, red, yellow, orange, green, purple, pink and white.

How do you use the USB port? I mean, what is it for?

I can dump and flash my NAND with it. If I upgrade the firmware (it's on 4.5.0-10U for the Gateway cart) I can use it to downgrade. I can also use it to unbrick my 3ds in case I have problems with the Gateway. The latter isn't as much of a concern since the release of their "Omega" firmware.

RISE FROM THE DEAD!
Is OP still on the forums? How much would you charge for these services!?
I am still around. I have considered doing a different process as the stickers were rather fragile. I didn't have enough interest to warrant an initial investment. If you want PM me and we may be able to work something out.

would there be a way that i could add led lights to my 3ds?
Yes, but they would drain your battery faster.
