Never been a fan. I like some RPG's (Dragon Quest, LoZ) but I dislike Pokemon.
So much walking around, and it's annoying trying to go from point A to B & randomly being stopped.. You can also beat the game pretty much by mashing A for a few hours.

Anyone feel the same way?

edit: I do like how Nintendo promotes the Wii U in X/Y ;p. Sly move there Nintendo

I like RPGs very much, but pokemon have a weak plot and lotsa grinding/farming. But I liked the cartoon when I was a kid. I played the games only briefly. I got one GBA games half-comleted, but dropped it. I also tried some NDS games, but it's too boring, since all pokemon games are exactly the same.

Well, there are repels you can get within the game if you don't like being stop often. I would disagree that mashing the same button would actually help you win the game. Considering that you have to strategize what types of pokemon your using and what you are going up against, mashing "A" would probably not get you very far. Once you beat the game, you don't have a point A to B to get to, but rather online gameplay would be the primary focus.

Also, Nintendo/Gamefreak always had current console somewhere in the game (usually in the player's bedroom), which I don't think is very sly, it's just simply decoration.

Not this shit again.

once in awhile we get some who doesn't like Pokemon on this site, and has to create a thread showing us how crap Pokemon is.

not every game is for everyone.

but for most Pokemon is the few RPG's they play. For most, including me Pokemon was the 1st RPG they played. so it has a sweet stop in they life.

This days Pokemon has improved so much in the back-end. by which i mean how the battles work..

The games are simplistic, straightforward, and condensed. Whether you like that or not is kinda your opinion.

I usually go through phases with it, sometimes I'll really be in the mood for it, other times it's torture to play more than a few minutes. However it's pretty consistent and there's rarely anything new to learn so you can just jump into it after years and have the same experience albeit with new content.

Admittedly though the games are kinda weaker now, X and Y felt pretty bland, especially for a "next gen transition". I mean it certainly wasn't as bad as BW or RSE but I'd say it's basically average/mediocre on the Pokemon scale.

Going A to B and being stopped randomly = every rpg ever

The picture isnt him

Meh. This should be a thread in the GameBoy section since all 3DS owners are Poketards. At least those people had tastes in games other than Pokemon.

No, just Final Fantasy. I have a choice in choosing my battles in Chrono Trigger.

Twitch plays Pokemon disagrees.

I disagree with your disagreement.

But they didnt just mash A.
They mashed all the buttons, and even then the only reason why they completed each game was the ability to switch to democracy mode when shit got too tough.

Yeah, I like the original anime series, music and games.

I do dislike the newer anime series of Pocket Monsters they're just out of my interest.

Actually, you don't have to strategize.
You can breeze through the game by only training your starter, putting the most powerful moves at the top and mashing A.
This is how I played the first 3 (4?) generations.

I like the pokemon games, it's been running solid for nearly two decades now, but I just find it too repetitive as it's predecessors for which I don't play them anymore. If pokemon had to have more of a real time game play and a more appealing storyline other than collecting badges and win tournaments, it might add something unique. It would be cool for an experimental title like all other pokemon games such as Conquest, dungeon rescue team etc. The Wii U needs something like this, if there could only be one pokemon game with solid RPG elements and a tad bit of a dark storyline to it that makes sense, it will really pull the wii u out of the shitbox its currently in. Enuf said from me
