...Mario Maker 2's network will shut down before Nintendo releases a third installment of it?
Come to think about it: Nintendo cut off support to the game only after like a year or so. Version 3.0 was the final update that included new content to the game, and the Ninji speedruns stopped coming out soon after.
Then Nintendo tried it with Game Builder Garage. That game never received a content update and people essentially forgot about it quite quickly.
The 40th anniversary was the perfect time to announce a third installment to the series, as the first one was announced during the 30th anniversary, and look what we got (or didn't get) instead.
The Mario Maker series honestly has so much potential, and yet Nintendo keeps refusing to do something with that series. I have a feeling that it's going to end up in the abyss with IPs like F-Zero or Badge Arcade.
Or is there anything I missed?
