Last gen. We had DS, PSP and Wii hacked from the beginning. The vita, wii u, 3ds scenes are doing a little progress sometimes. But it will never happen as last gaming gen

I swear everything I see a topic like this, I think the author is thinking "WHRE R MAH FREE GAEMS!!11!!!!!one!11!".
Anyway, nowadays homebrew devs got a lot of open source alternatives (Some better than the closed hardware) if they want to code their own softwares, also if you want to play old games, Wii U and PS4(I think?)(Not sure about the XBone) have some kind of Retro Compatibility with old games too.
Rant-like text aside, 3DS hacking progressed these last months, we even got an early 3DS emu and some basic homebrews, nobody cares about the Vita, so there isn't a big demand for hacking it, Wii U isn't (sadly)selling well, bar the vWii fiasco from Nintendo, I guess it will take a while to hack it. This generation best bet for hacking so far is the PSBox(Most popular systems and they are pretty powerful), but I think it will also take a while if we think of what happened with the PS3 and the X360.
You mean the one that hasn't even lasted a year? Patience, grasshopper.I'm loving this gen without piracy.
