Where is your GabeN now?

Free?! What's the catch?
There's no catch. Grab full games, expansions and more at absolutely no cost. Just make sure to act fast because On the House specials can appear and disappear at any time.

You mean a trial or demo, right?
Nope. You’re getting a full version of the real game — for free!

How long will I own the game?
Once you’ve claimed your game, it’s yours to keep!

Why is Origin doing this?
We're gamers, too. We appreciate you making Origin your gaming home ... and besides, who doesn't like free stuff?

While maligned quite a bit at its launch (and rightfully so), EA's been doing a lot to spruce up their Steam-competing, dream-entreating, scream-defeating service recently, from the "Great Game Guarantee" to, well, this. I'm not the biggest fan of Origin or anything, but I appreciate the fact that EA's at least trying here, and hey, a little competition is a good for everyone.

Their first offering is Dead Space, which is normally priced at $20, so if you have any interest in the overlap between death and space, well, you're in luck.

Hmm, add the ability to resell the games I have purchased/legitimately obtained and we might be good.

Either way though competition is good, hopefully something will go down in flames and amuse me in the process.

Dead Space is a fantastic game, so If you havent played it, I suggest downloading Origin and playing it. I know the standard is usually to hate EA for everything and all that nonsense, but cmon. If youre a gamer, play games. Especially free amazing ones!

There is one catch... Grab full games, expansions and more at absolutely no cost. Just make sure you install Origin to allow us to spy on you.

You mean a trial or demo, right?
Nope. You’re getting a full version of the real game — for the cost of your privacy

Why is Origin doing this?

EA wont let me log into my origin account... lol

But yeah as soon as I can get in, I will of course add it (if I don't have it already?) lol

Edit: I hate having so many passwords... lol

I got in and and I already have it :)

probably doing the same thing GOG does every once in a while....While your grabbing your free game so quick and easily..why don't you spend your money on some other games that we have, that you can download quick and easy..did we say that it was quick and easy?

regardless of what anyone says about privacy violations: FREE GAMES?!
I'm not going to install Origin, but if I did, I would:
- install Origin in a sandbox so they cant see the rest of my files
- or install Origin in a virtual machine (not sure how well that would work with games though)
- or install it on a dual-OS computer (multiboot), with partitions isolated from one another
- or install it on a clean computer with nothing else on it (a PC dedicated to gaming)

I'm sure there are ways of not being affected by their bullshit. And still enjoy free games

legal? definitely not...
a little less morally questionable? perhaps so
I really don't think so. They aren't doing this promotion to make people a favor or because they love them, they chose to do this because increasing the installbase of a digital platform, making more people install/use origin, will inevitably lead to more people buying a game in the future, statistically speaking.
By bypassing the installation of origin you are damaging them as much as you would if you didn't pay money for a pay-to-play game: their end of the deal sees absolutely no gain out of it just the same.

That being said, I'm personally a pirate and I'm not advocating against downloading the games illegally if someone wants to, just pointing out that this doesn't make it less questionable. When people look for excuses to pirate, or latch onto any possible reason to make themselves look less bad, it's pretty silly.

Fixed Truth:
So what you are saying is that they're trying to lure potential costumers with free stuff? :O I DIDN'T KNOW THEY ARE A COMPANY!!

Seriously, why do you think Steam has their sales? It's proven that it's a money generator.

People need to get of their high horse about Valve vs. EA. Yeah, EA fucked up plenty of times and yes, Valve got a lot of things right, but they're still both big companies who are trying to make money. And there is nothing wrong about that.

@The Real Jdbye, I thought about that and I have blank DVD's and Blurays but honestly after like 90 songs I just listen to it a couple of hundred times toss it out and burn something else or have like 2-3 CD's. Florida here the heat in the car tends to ruin the CD's after like a few months even commercial pressed ones don't last too long.
