*Needlessly making a thread for one review when this topic already exists*

That's twenty years in the cubes, creep.

He's actually one of the best reviewers on youtube, no bias. Titanfall review was spot on.

I found it really insightful when he dressed up in a totally wacky costume and yelled in a totally wacky manner at the camera. LMAO/10

This moron really doesn't deserve his own thread.
Awful youtuber.

Angry Joe reviews are honest and truthful something which a lot of reviewers nowadays don't do because if they speak out of its flaws they'll be kicked from future events (receiving promo copies of games to review).

AJ is the modernised AVGN of gaming. It's a shame that AVGN's taking so long for new game reviews but when they're release they are awesome.

I genuinely tried to watch his review for MGS GZ, but he lost me at like 5 minutes. Sorry, he spent the -entire- time crying about the cost.
I know the cost of the game. When I look at a store page, it tells me the cost. Awesome. I just made at least 5 minutes of his review irrelevant with one 10 second google search, and I didn't have to sit through obnoxious over exaggerated tryhard anger.

If he's trying to review games, his hook should be actually reviewing the game. The cost to content ratio is entirely subjective and there are plenty of people who would be, and are, perfectly fine with dropping the money if the content is still good.
What people are looking for is, what is the game. What is it, what does it do, what does it offer. The fact he even had the audacity to include a speed run as a relevant piece of information blew me away and I honestly almost closed the video right there (granted I didn't make it much farther). Oblivion has speed runs sitting around 11 minutes. They mean nothing towards the value of the game.

Actually after typing that I said screw it and tried again. Made it most of the way, I don't think I missed much but I did have to skip the obnoxious and annoying filler he employs. Nice to see he stopped crying like a 4 year old who just had his toy stolen for long enough to actually talk about the gameplay.
From an entirely objective point of view, I guarantee most, if not all, people who watch this dudes videos, do it for his personality (god knows why). When I look up reviews, I want to see the game. I want to hear about it. I want a review of THE GAME. I don't want to watch a grown man throw a hissy fit over the fucking cost of the game that I am fully aware of already. If he wants to cry about the price point, he should do so in a separate video. There's little room for it in a review.

Angry Joe is like an ugly crossbreed of forced comedy and actual review content. When he shuts the fuck up and actually does what he's trying to do, a review, he seems good enough. But he tries too hard to fill out his name with some pretty forced anger, ugly edits, and horrid filler scenes. If I want comedy, i'll watch a Yahtzee "review". Now that dude knows comedy. If I want a proper review, well I sure as hell wont be looking for Angry Joe's take on things. I've seen enough of his crap to be entirely tired of the horrible methods he employs to try and make a point. Also there's no such thing as unbiased.

I bought the game for £20 for the PS4, relatively that is a good deal but is it value for money?

In a word no, no it is not. The actual play area you get for your money is inexcusably small and pretty dull. For people to describe it as an "open world" is quite honestly a joke. Imagine the military base level in MGS3 but with a lot less to it and smaller and that pretty much sums up ground zeroes sandbox. Also the main mission you have to complete in the story mode is also pretty bland with you just having to rescue two prisoners, there is nothing to excite you and this package sorely needed some epicness to justify its price.

No boss fights, No interesting characters to interact with. The play area is really nothing special, the highlight for me was two cool cinematic sections and I had already seen one of them months ago. Knowing the game was short I took my time with it and still completed the main mission in one hour and forty minutes. After you finish the main mission you can unlock four extra missions again contained in the military base along with difficulty modes, extra weapons and so on.

All in all you could probably squeeze 20 hours of "unique" (playing different missions and difficulties) gameplay at a big stretch from ground zeroes, but that really doesn't amount to good value for money. You could easily get that amount of play time from any modern demo if you played it enough and I would want a lot more from something who's rrp is £30 (for the PS4) and used to be an astonishing £40 which simply amounts to robbery and profiteering.

It's really sad that this wasn't a £10 DLC title or even just free. The bitter taste you get in your mouth from the amount of content provided for its high price takes away from Ground Zeroes many positive aspects. As a MGS veteran I can say that control wise this is the most polished MGS game ever. The controls have been overhauled for the better and a lot of the previous clunkiness that came as standard with MGS 1-4 is gone. Enemy AI is also much improved with enemy movement patterns a lot less predictable and robotic. Along with other tweaks and features it is also impressive seeing what the new Fox engine is capable of on the PS4, it runs buttery smooth and I cant help but feel excited for the upcoming phantom pain.

Overall this should have just either been bundled with another Konami title as a tasty bonus ala the Tanker Section in MGS2, been a £10 DLC title or free. I honestly don't know how Konami or Hideo Kojima expected anything other than a negative reaction to this release. It amounts to little more than exploitation of MGS's dedicated fanbase. Only a MGS fanboy and Kojima apologist would say otherwise.

Very disappointing indeed.
