I'm just looking for a DS mode only flashcart that supports emunand (just emunand NOT 3DS rom playback).

I've heard you can run emunand from any 3DS compatible DS mode flashcart and backup your nand, etc, play retail carts and access e-shop without having to update... but you're saying that R4i Gold (not deluxe) can't do this?
You can use the DS flashcart to install the exploit allowing you to run the Gateway launcher which you can use for those things. But is there really any point in doing that if you're not planning on running 3DS roms or import games?

To keep my system exploitable for homebrew in the future (I hope). Thanks for all the info btw

I have a 3DS XL with the latest firmware and a Supercard DSTWO and playing DS games on the big screens its totally totally worth it

Really? I find playing DS games on the bigger screens terrible because it upscales the image to fit the larger screen resolution of the 3DS XL. This makes a lot of normally sharp, crisp objects look blurry because of the extra pixels added to pad the image. Take for example Chrono Trigger DS, the menu text and images look way better on a regular DS than on a 3DS XL.

This is why I play all of my DS games on my old DS Lite still.

Some games do look awful, but you can always play them in their original resolution by holding Start + Select when booting a DS game.

Wow, this I did not know. Thanks for the tip, I'll have to try it out. Does this also work with games booted via DS flashcart?
