Just making sure that ethier one of these can get hacked and if anyone can say which is better. I'm also contemplating for the adaptor thing where you can use an sd card instead of the psp memory cards.

3000 obviously
Not "obviously", it depends on the purpose. If he wants to use cIPL flashing or Pandora's in the future, an early (8B Data Code or earlier) is going to be a superior choice in all respects other than the lack of the microphone which was useless in the first place (only used in S.O.C.O.M which is offline now and in Skype which is poor on the PSP anyways). For heavy modding, an early 2000 is going to be infinitely better since no matter how badly you screw up, in 99,99% of cases you can recover using Pandora - with the 3000 you can't.

That being said, both systems are hackable, so if you only indend to use homebrew and backup loaders, either is fine.

Thats if you screw up in the first place i got a 3000 with 6.20 Pro C permanent hacked. I manly said 3000 because of the much better screen.

Ghosting versus poor Interlacing, choices, choices. :P

I'm in two minds about those models because an early 2000 really does give more secure modding options, but the 3000 is said to be more comfortable and it generally looks nicer. One thing is certain though, if it's a late 2000, forget it, it loses all the benefits and has all the drawbacks. :P

AKA possibly the worst choice one could make. Bulky, heavy, has only 32MB RAM, poor battery life... Why, oh why would you want one? For the IrDA? :P

Yes, I know you were joking. :)

An early 2000 model would be my pick but if you want to play PSP games on the TV with a PS3 controller then PSPgo is your best choice for it.

I have a 2000 3000 and GO model they all have their benefits if you want Perm 2000 if you want better screen 3000 if you want good screen and more portable GO but go has no umd and runs down faster but can blue tooth to PS3 controller and head sets some few

That is my 2 cents they all have something good and almost any can go something perm if you 6.20 or on early 2000 cipl

so I got psp 2000 black for $60 used at a local video game store? the barcode has 2002, is that any significance?
No, what you're looking for is the data code which can be found in the battery compartment, under the battery and close to the serial number.

If it's not there, you'll have to use PSP-Ident, but let's do this one step at a time.

Congratulations, you have the best PSP money can buy in terms of modification - it's Pandora-compatible. Feel free to update straight to 6.60 OFW and then install PRO-B or PRO-C CFW. :)

sweet but should I pandora my battery? I remember my friends psp battery not working when it was pandoraed? also pro-b or pro-c? I hate having choices lol.

No, by no means. Pandora batteries should only be used as a recovery measure in the event of a brick. Right now, all PSP's are perfectly hackable, the Pandora is simply a brick recovery tool in the unlikely event that something goes terribly wrong or if you want to install some fancy CFW from the past for whatever reason. Frankly, I actually think that breaking your own battery for Pandora purposes is silly when they can be purchased online on the cheap, but that's besides the point - you don't need a Pandora right now. Follow this guide, it will take you through all the steps. You're interested in the 6.60 Permanent method using cIPL Flasher - I believe it's best for your setup and it's what I'm running myself.

@Xdqwerty No you heard wrong, and don't believe till you experience yourself. Fallout 4 is one of my favorite games of all time. Yes it had issues early on, esp with older hardware like the xbox1, but it is awesome, esp now being 4k on Series S/X or PS5

@BigOnYa, Then i think people were talking about fallout 76

    that one was buggy too
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea you right there, fallout 76 was a letdown, but it not that bad now, they have fixed slot of issues they had at launch. Biggest issue with Fallout 76 is its a pay to advance further type of game, which sucks
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, I may probably download fallout 3 or new vegas on my ps3
