"Hello loyal Gateway 3DS fans! (you know who you are)

Today we will briefly take a break from our intense development cycles to present you with our latest progress on the MultiROM functionality for the Gateway 3DS 2.0 release. But first a few words from the team.

As you might have noticed, our milestones have been slipping a bit lately. The original release date for 2.0 was planned early january, but certain events have thrown a wrench into our schedule.

We are still investigating individual brick incidents reported by legitimate Gateway 3DS users. So far, many isolated brick incidents that were blamed on us have been debunked in one way or another and turned out to be associated with use of the clones modified versions of our official release files.

Now, without further ado; enjoy this quick teaser video of the upcoming Gateway 3DS ROM selection menu. As you might be able to tell we're doing our best to tightly integrate this with the existing system and make the task of switching to a different game a pleasant and fast experience for all Gateway users."

That first line made me gag...

May I ask where you got that statement from? It ain't on their site

As nice as this looks, I'm getting tired of this "support the innovators, not the imitators" crap. If you really wanted to do that, you'd BUY your games. You're still paying some shady guys with no morals (considering A. they make money off piracy and B. the whole bricky thing) for something that's illegal in quite a few countries anyway.

Showing up on their site for me. Just f5'd and it was there.

OH! Now I see it lol. Wonder how this'll pan out. Still, trust has to be earned and I refuse to earn their trust.

Yeah, despite the "breakthrough", I'll bet dollars to donuts that this is still a no go for many.

I would wager that it's even better than DS multirom since the menu is active within the actual OS - it's not some separate application bootloading the games.
Agreed, just one button to change your games, man. How awesome it that? No need for clunky OS and search for all the files you need.

The only thing that could possibly be better than the UI they implemented would be if all the games on the SD card showed up as individual icons in the 3DS's GUI, really.

Regardless of your feelings on the matter, they are the innovators when it comes to the 3DS scene. They never said they made the games. Just that they made the firmware which runs the games.

Coming up next in the list of features for Gateway 2.0, newer FW support ;) It'll be interesting to see just what features are going to be in this release.

Agreed

What happened to all the posts of you wishing GW's death? You're changing your view of them rather quick. o.O

it would be cool if when you put the curser over the game slot and press up or down you can select a game it changes the icon on the game cartridge instead of a sliding bar across the screen. which don't get me wrong that is sweet as hell to see that they haven't bailed on us and are indeed still working on new stuff.

...I will personally go out of my way to find 4.5 3DS'es for all the users whining about 6.X/7.X support - they're really not that rare, people! :rofl2: One problem would follow the other - first it's higher firmwares, then it'd be no Online support. :P
Shame on you GW, you could've gotten a customer.
Good - more Gateways for me then. ;O;
