i was playing earlier, and after i finished playing i went to sleep. after that i turned my 3DS on and it shows bluescreen.

here's a pic to prove it:

i NEVER use custom LAUNCHER.DAT. all the files in my DS both the launcher and the blue card files are downloaded from gateway site.
Corrupted file == criminal in the eyes of Gateway Inc.

I simply will not use the thing again.

Did you by any chance play with the "Data Management" section of settings ?
If not, could you please post the md5/sha1 of the launcher.dat you have on *your* SD card (to check if it didn't get corrupt).
Either way, you should contact Gateway and see what they can do for you.

Although I have not investigated this myself, some very reliable scene members have claimed that there is a sanity check which will crash to black screen if the data is corrupt and that the clones brick because of the removal of that sanity check (the brick code is behind another checksum after the sanity check).

how do i do that?

how do i do that?

If you are using windows: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/889768
If you are using linux/mac: type "sha" or "md5" in the console (Terminal on mac) and drag the launcher.dat in

This will essentially calculate the hash of the file, so it can be compared to the one posted by other members to make sure it wasn't corrupt. Should help pinpoint the issue (or eliminate an option).

I'm so scared of this mess. not turning mine on anymore. sad to hear.

which ver. were you using?

The cart looks pretty beat up on the right side, what did you do to it? (Probably unrelated, just wondering.)

it's that shiny holo-sticker on the right side of the card. the light doesn't quite reflect well on that.

2.02b

this is where i put my gateway launcher.dat

i downloaded it LEGIT from the gateway site.

Just out of curiosity before I go to get some rest, and maybe help this discussion along, did you by any chance use the Region free patch from Normmatt?

Install Hashtab.

Far easier then a typing shit in CMD ;p

Make sure you email GW including that picture of your bricked 3ds. This is not cool at all. Be sure to post your launcher.dat md5 hash.

Nopee.

i never tamper with any of the files and all i got from the gateway site.

EDIT: checked with MD5
is the checksum value is the one i'm supposed to post?

Hmm your MD5 is correct and still a bricked 3DS. Good work gateway team xD

EDIT: apollooo I'm sorry for your loss.
no need to say sorry, it's not your fault. it's just the ****tiest day of my life >__> thanks anyway.

so you don't have any idea what the hell is happening?

i already posted a similar thread to this on their support forum, see if they have anything. just spread the word so the world may know about this :/

Sorry for your experience.
Hope you could restore your NAND with a backup.
If you can restore it by the normal method of hardware downgrade, that might not be caused by GW's code, because GW's code is really merciless which won't let you restore by just a card reader.

Anyway hope you can make it.

Wow man and I was planning on getting a GW card too but after reading this thread fuck that.
Sorry for your loss and I hope you get it sorted out soon bud.

apolloo, just to be certain, was that a copy of the launcher you had on your computer, or was it the actual file from the SD card? I was thinking if the SD card might've corrupted the file, it wouldn't be seen on a copy of the same file from earlier.
(just to investigate a bit, not defending anything here)
