apolloo, just to be certain, was that a copy of the launcher you had on your computer, or was it the actual file from the SD card? I was thinking if the SD card might've corrupted the file, it wouldn't be seen on a copy of the same file from earlier.
(just to investigate a bit, not defending anything here)

it's the one on my 3DS.

is the launcher.DAT that is on my computer,

this one ( that i tested ) :

is the launcher that i copied directly from my 3DS. see the folder path on the screen shot. the 3DS folder is all my backup data ( including saves, and system NAND backup )

i checked both files the sum are the exact same

And the Gayway Fanboy's will still defend this DRM, bricking piece of sh*t.

Bricking a games console, because someone butt hurt you by copying your code, which you created to help people steal games, is lame and extremely childish.
Also this is what happens when n00bs create bricking code, without testing it properly, they screw over their own customers.

Corrupted file == criminal in the eyes of Gateway Inc.

I simply will not use the thing again.

I'm with you completely. It was just a matter of time before even a legitimate GW user got affected by this.
Which sucks more because I was thinking of maybe using an unmodified launcher so I could play Animal Crossing on my EmuNAND. Yet here I am, with no way to access it now.

The last two days have been frustrating, but at least I don't have a bricked 3DS.

but there is a fact that i used LEGIT gateway software and hardware. -____-

Please put your SD card into your pc, perform a MD5 check again on that exact file, and post a screenshot for us?

It's like buying an Xbox with a bomb strapped to it.

The beta GW launcher could very well be a ticking time bomb. In war both sides get hurt, it seems GW started a war that will cause grief for all of us.

It makes me wonder if i should just stop using my device till this whole thing is sorted out or version 2.0 is released and confirmed clean.

I wouldn't even expect 2.0 to come out, let alone be clean of this bricking code. Probably best to just wait for someone to create an alternate homebrew solution, however long that might be.

It wont cause me grief, i don't buy nor need Carts :p
Gateway will not be affected by this either, because the sheep will be ok with it, they will say any legit gateway owner who has a bricked 3DS is a liar or they must have done something wrong, etc.
Or the disappear and come back under a new name.

Has this cart given you problems before? Notice any strange behavior or something that might've caused the brick?

Then tell me, why is my 3DS not bricked yet? Using GW 2.0b2 beta here

Something sounds fishy
