Hacking Pokémon Bank and EmuNAND with retail game?

I got 4.5U 3DS XL and just ordered Gateway. I plan to play XY on retail using Emunand 7 once they fix it. I want to transfer Pokemon from the older versions using the bank. I know I will need retail black 2 for that and I dont mind buying it. I want to transfer from ROMs to it, from it to bank and from bank to XY. Biggest question is whether or not I need to buy a second DS for it. Heard the Pokemon website I can deposit to and transfer with can be used to get them into B2 with only one system.

1) Can B2 retail on emunand 7 get online since it is DS game? Online as in access Bank but on my 3DS.

2) Do I need a second DS for this? Not going lower than SS, Platinum and the Black games.

I don't know how it works for ds games, if you need a certain firmware to do such things, but my guess is no.
since ds games aren't updatable, I guess they will make the bank work with one of the pokemon transfer mechanisms that those games already have. so I don't think you need the latest firmware.

now, maybe you don't know that when you play a ds game, you have to re-install gateway's exploit. this means that there's no emunand for ds games. if what I wrote above is true, this is not a problem.
instead of buying a ds just for it, buy a flashcard (be careful to buy one that runs on your 3ds). if you don't want to pirate, then buy both a flashcart and the original game (that's cheaper than ds + game), then dump the game's rom and use that one. you will be able to upload the pokemon to the bank without problems. ds games have no problems with online on flashcarts.

I bet it will read the cartridge on the 3DS/DS slot of the 3DS and I don't think it will work with a DS.

My guess is that it ... I don't know, but it may actually work on emuNAND as long as the app only reads the save file of the DS cartridge instead of trying to boot the game.

By the way, tyons, you need at least the 7.1 firmware to use this since this app has to be downloaded from the eShop.

You download 2 apps, the transporter app and the bank app.

The transporter app is needed for those who have the black/white and/or black2/white2.
The bank app directly works with X/Y.

The listed release date for the app is Dec 27, 2013.

To download these from the eShop you will need to be on the latest firmware. As to how emuNAND currently doesn't work with eShop in 7.X.

It is a standalone app that reads the cart and flashcards cannot be uses with it since it uses DSi functionality that wasn't included on the flashcards themselves. Thus a retail DS B,W,B2,W2 is required. The problem is how it would connect although since emunand can run games from eshop, it can run this app just fine without leaving the gateway exploit. I can try in a few days but idk what is best.

So I definitely don't need a second DS right. Just need to buy retail B2 and Y.

In other words a regular DS is useless since boths app are for 3DS.

If you don't have straggling pokemon on any of the older pokemon games then you don't need a 2nd DS to put all the pokemon onto Black/White or Black2/White2.

The apps are 3DS download app only.

Well I want to complete the pokedex past the obtainable pokemons in Y. There is a thing where you can deposit pokemon and fetch them later. It is called Pokecheck and you only need one DS while using it. Problem is idk if Pokecheck is compatible with 3DS much less the emunand classic version.

it's compatible if you play the ds games, it is not if you play X&Y. but I think a pokecheck for X&Y will be made, sooner or later (probably later).

Yes, their website says XY support is coming. I don't mind. Just want to make sure I can still do it with Roms of Platinum and SS into B2, then to Y using my 3DS. I want the legit Celebi most of all. Gateway said they are fixing eshop for emunand 7.

Does not imply that "support is coming"; with encryption the way it is (after the 1.2 patch resulting from BA) there's currently no 'support' to offer.

What are you trying to say?? They already fixed the issue with card2 games (Pokemon and Animal Crossing), and they said they will release this update after an undefined number of days after Christmas.

Reread the chain of quotes. They're talking about 'Pokecheck X/Y support', not Gateway.

Oh I see; I got confused since we were talking about emuNAND at first.

I think the Pokecheck is pretty much dead as well, I even think that it would be easier to decrypt the save files of the game generated by flashcards to create the next Pokegen.

The bank doesn't. Pokecheck allows transfer to B2 with one DS system. Bank allows the same with B2 to Y.

To keep the people that complain about hacks and fakemon feeling safe that beloved gamefreak hears their cries and is keeping them safe from the evil villains.

Edit: also I'm pretty sure that you need a retail copy of x or y to use the pokebank. But Until pokebank is released its really all just speculation.
