Yes, you bring a party of 6 pokemon (who can be in your battle box).
When you connect to your opponent, you will see a preview of their team.
Then you select 4 of your pokemon that you believe would work best against their team.
As far as elimination goes, depending on how many group stages we have, who ever has the best win/loss record moves on to the "Knockout Stage."
I am currently looking into adding a Loser Bracket, but i'll wait and see how the Group Stage turns out.

Sure, tomorrow (December 9th, 2013) I will be closing all entries for this tournament.
At that time, I will randomly pair everyone up in groups of 4 trainers.
You battle each member in your group once (total of 3 battles) and save the battles to your Vs.Recorder.
After all 3 battles are saved, you post your results here in this format :
Me vs Break :
Win
Me vs Gary :
Win
Me vs Red :
Lose
* more or less *
Once the groups are announced, it is up to the members to contact each other to setup a time/day to battle.
