It's cool, I am sure you will do well ^_^"

And yes, once entries are closed...everyone will be randomly paired in groups.

* Updated the rules in the OP *

So far, we have 5 Groups Stages.

Any idea on when the actual battles will take place? I have finals next week which put my availability into some pretty specific times.

It's really up to the members of the Group Stages.

As stated in the OP, once entries are closed on monday...you have until friday to battle everyone in your group once.

More or less once the pairings are announced/posted you must exchange 3DS-Friend Codes with the trainers in your group.

Then you communicate a time/day that you can battle online (before December 13th, 2013)

So everyone has a week to work out a time to hope online to battle...and to post the results.

* Any match-ups not posted will counts as losses *

I was actually hoping for some flexibility in the schedule.
Seeing as I am in a widely different time frame then most members PLUS have to deal with military schedules.
I will do my best, of course, and if it doesn't work out I will prefer not to delay everyone ;)

Well, i ask for everyone's time zone to group similar time zones together.

Though, even if you have a few hours difference with someone, you still have about a week to work out a time and day.

Just to be clear, we can only choose 4 pokemon for the double battle right?
And what conditions will one be eliminated?

you can build a 6 pokemon team, but only 4 can participate in each battle...
like the online wifi battles, you choose according to your opponent's team

Yes, you bring a party of 6 pokemon (who can be in your battle box).

When you connect to your opponent, you will see a preview of their team.

Then you select 4 of your pokemon that you believe would work best against their team.

As far as elimination goes, depending on how many group stages we have, who ever has the best win/loss record moves on to the "Knockout Stage."

I am currently looking into adding a Loser Bracket, but i'll wait and see how the Group Stage turns out.

Thanks for the help and i'll continue to update the OP with more detailed instructions.

Sure, tomorrow (December 9th, 2013) I will be closing all entries for this tournament.

At that time, I will randomly pair everyone up in groups of 4 trainers.

You battle each member in your group once (total of 3 battles) and save the battles to your Vs.Recorder.

After all 3 battles are saved, you post your results here in this format :

Me vs Break : Win
Me vs Gary : Win
Me vs Red : Lose

* more or less *

Once the groups are announced, it is up to the members to contact each other to setup a time/day to battle.

Ok so you're not teamed up, everyone just battles everyone right?
