So, I've updated my emuNand and now have full access to eShop and all. I'm gonna go out to buy a Pokemon X cartridge when stores open up, but I have a doubt: when using emuNand + original cartridge, is it possible to play online? If anyone can confirm this for me, that would be great! Cheers guys...

This beta is not working with super-trimmed roms :(

Pilotwings says that it cannot read the game and TLoZ doesn't even shows up. I'm gonna ask them for support because I don't want to "redump" all my games.

I doubt they will try to support these kind of ROMs since it's adviced not to use even trimmed ROMs and also there's almost no advantage on trimming the update partition.

I have both a 3DS and an XL that are on 4.5....so I have been working with the 3DS first tonight. I did the backup no problems, after copying it I removed the file and went and ran the process again...then I did an MD5 comparison to make sure the hash was the same on both dumps (always a good idea to make sure nothing corrupted on the dump). I then did the format and created the EmuNand. After a power down and then reboot and ds/profile I went into settings and did the Nintendo update.....works peachy.

I have run Zelda (absolute USA dump) with no problems, save worked fine and created the .sav file when doing the home/close procedure. I went into Eshop and downloaded both the new YouTube client and the Phoenix Wright demo...playing the demo now.....obviously they need to tune this up a little as I also had some gray screen hangups but one thing I will say is it does take a few seconds to boot into the 6.3 emunand so don't assume just because you have the gray lines screen for 5 seconds it has hung....give it about 10 seconds to be sure.

Overall this is an impressive start and it is a BETA....hopefully they will be releasing more fixed Betas before the final so we can test the 'fixes' for them. I mean the entire concept is brilliant...one thing I will say is if you have a 4.5 system I would use this and create your emunand...I am worried Nintendo will get 7.x out soon and then the 6.3 window will be closed....as long as you have your 6.3 emunand created on your SD card then the launcher updates should work with it (one would think).

Tried to get DLC for Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. I get "Error Code: 002-0123 You cannot use online services with this Game Card. For helps, visit support.nintendo.com" Thought their in-game shop wouldn't count as online, so that answers that.

Yes, it counts as DLC. Only spotpass features are allowed.

Sent you a PM about how Monster Hunter is working with Gateway.

they made a beta for this and it's just a nand dump thingy? still no fix for pokemon and animal crossing and no online play.... damn man i hope this get's fixed before x-mas... (i doubt that will happen)

They also added support for newer games...

Didn't think it'd work but I tried emulating the NAND of another Tempers 3DS. The 3DS just ignores the emuNAND flashed to the SD card and boots into the 3DS' original NAND. Just something to note. Also when emuNAND is flashed to the 3DS' SD card a 1GB partition is created to store the NAND files and the rest of the space is free for saves, pictures, etc. When attempting to look into the 1GB partition Windows shows it as unformatted.

yeah i just saw someone posted something for zelda also the new sonic game maybe also MH4 works which is nice.

Hmm, I'm making a NAND backup now using the new 2.0 beta... but I don't see any option to dump a 3DS ROM image. Is this missing from the beta or am I doing something wrong? (Note that I didn't actually have a game inserted at the time, when I held L while pressing DS Profile)

Yes. what you're missing out is reading.

You can't make ROM dumps. Period.

I don't know why they removed their "Backup 3DS game cartridge" option they have had on their betas since 1.3c. Were they possibly got contacted by some game dumper group?

So I already have the NAND dumping hardware mod, and I wanted to try out this 2.0 beta firmware on my gateway. I have a big problem. I can not get Pokemon X to load my existing save game at all using Gateway. I was using Classic mode and didn't go back into settings (as this reverts to physical NAND). When I run the game I get a screen that says my game save is corrupt. I then saved my Physical NAND to my PC and flashed back regular 6.3 to my 3DS. Opened up Pokemon X and.. it loaded my existing save (thank god!).

Anyway, just a heads up to everyone else who might encounter this.

Apparently Pong may be right about this. Even though you are using a fully updated NAND, it doesn't completely act like the real NAND and it uses some encryption method to save the game that belongs to the 4.5 firmware instead of using the one existing on the 6.X firmware.

The reason of this is that this specific resource is activated when the console is booted; something impossible to do with EmuNAND.

Do you guys think we have to update the EmuNAND now?
Im scared of updating my system NAND, because of the beta version and stuff.
But if we do not update the EmuNAND now, we might not be able to update to 7.0 because they fixed stuff.

If Nintendo releases 7.0 and you cant update to it, you will also not be able to update to 6.3 anymore...
I dont know what to do, is it really safe to update? How can I make sure nothing goes wrong?

Guys before I do something stupid...
I've followed all instructions and I get to see GW3D x.x.x in System Settings. I enable wifi and go to System Update and I get this message:

Code:
"Ready to start system update. Update now? The update can be performed without connecting to the internet."

It seems to me that something is already downloaded to my 3DS and I'm afraid that I might break something (not update emuNAND but real one... Wifi is enabled but the bars are grey so it is not working when it shows this so pointing that update is somehow already downloaded. I've formated my 3DS SD card prior to this and there is no game in the gateway.

What do you guys think? What did it say when you updated your emunand?

If you are so scared about this, then don't update; it's not even necessary to support the newer games anymore.

If you want the new features available on 6.3, go ahead an update; just be careful and follow the given instructions as they are indicated.

Just update.

Make sure you have a backup already stored on your computer.

Have you checked if the NAND partition was created? It should be there anyway

Before updating, boot Gateway mode, then go to System Settings and then go straight to System Update, ensuring that the lettering of GW3DS is displayed at that specific moment.
