If by trimming, you mean, paraphrasing, rewording, editing, proofreading and stuff, then I'll try. Just tell me what to do. I'm not good with the whole techy process though.

Nope, not yet, they said there's still trimming to be done, although I'm not entirely sure what that means, but I do trust that they'll finish this.

So the complete translation of the game by a team consisting of two, three or four tops, regular translators and a whole slew of random contributors is worth less than 10% of the finished product to you?

Trimming includes precisely all those wonderful aspects Aeron listed up there. The game limits the amount of symbols/characters that fit within each sentence, so you have to shorten and reword shit all over the place. The process is very simple though. Look at the number on the left, write your stuff, check if the number on the right is equal to or lower than the number on the left, and click save.

I was thinking about seeing if I could help with the trimming, and now seeing how it's as simple as proofreading and shortening text, I'd gladly offer to help! Seeing how English is my only language and all.

Okay, since it seems we're going to get some new trimmers soon, let me give you some tips.

Zu will get angry if you use chatspeak in trimmed lines; using an apostrophe in certain situations will break how the line is counted, giving you a -1 which cannot be saved, but hopefully oil_ will fix that soon; since the script is out of order and doesn't include who's speaking, if you're confused over things like whether the scene or speaker has changed or the tentative context of the scene or if the line just flat-out confuses you, just ask in the chat and someone will help you unless everyone is sleeping or doing things in other windows/tabs.

Also, the chat is often full of silliness, random youtube links, and spoilers for various other Summon Night games. Secret identities should be kept secret. Occasionally, we talk about how hungry we are.

Zu was in the 130s or so when I checked, so I guess if you're going to join you should start from the 200s.
