I don't think it will be worth it to update. If i were you i would wait and see what gateway can do.

Okay! I mean, I do want the torchic haha! - Also if I were to update, I'd get the digital copy.

I'm in my 20's so I can easily pay for things, but yeah :P
I MAY update.... not sure yet. There are only 3 games I'm really looking forward to. 3DS isn't even my main handheld. I like the Vita much more. I won't be playing it much anyway, so I may update :P

Well according to the rules, GBAtemp doesn't support piracy.

What really annoyed me was you saying you "got your money's worth" out of it. Just a dick thing to do.

Are you five? I got my money's worth. The price of 2 games. That's not rude. You need to learn social skills before speaking.

Get out.

No, I'm not 5, and I've been part of this community (the homebrew one) for many, many years. I don't like it when people lightly throw about the fact that they pirate games, because it casts a bad image on people like me who develop homebrew apps, even if we oppose piracy.

You should just leave this discussion. Or at least add to the conversation without trying to argue.

You do know this used to be a rom-distribution site, correct?

God dammit people!
U have the gateway and a 4.5 3DS and you can get almost all games and all of that u want to give for Pokemon?
What's wrong with u :o ??
Don't be stupid and don't upgrade, probably all new 3rd party games won't have APP, maybe some games like Monster Hunter 4.
Use the gateway until 3rdP devs start to APP their games and when u see that gateway isn't fixing them.

I offered a perfectly good solution to your dilemma. Buy your games and you will be able to play online, as well as access many new features.

Yes, I know this used to be a site for hosting roms, and the irony of the forum rules is not lost on me. Regardless, things have changed. It's not a host site anymore, it's a forum.

First off, I enjoy my GateWay very much, and I'm sure Pokemon and Zelda, etc. will be playable very soon.

However, I don't like the thought of not being able to go online with Pokemon, etc.

I'm on 4.5, with Gateway, and I can't decide. Should I wait for the bypass, despite not being able to play online? Maybe it's just an impulse-thought, as I've grown up with R/B/G/Y, and those hadn't any online support.

What would you do?
Buy a 2DS for retail.

Don't ask people what they would do if you are going to get upset at the answer.

I will say this. I don't expect the Gateway 3DS to support newer firmware versions anytime soon, if ever. They were using a well known and long since patched exploit. They were VERY far behind, and catching up before Nintendo patches new exploits (which they have had a surprising amount of success on with the 3DS IMO) is unlikely.

I'm in my 20's have a job, I feel as though I've gotten my money's-worth from Gateway. I'll give it to my friend (who's on 4.4) and I'll be buying Pokemon Y :)

God Bless! And thank you for all your help!

You sure about it?
Knowing that you also regretted it with your PS3?

I wonder if that was the point of game streaming
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    But it's a dead end
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@Psionic Roshambo, people who cant download it can still play the game
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

Did you feed the hamster in your internet router? It prob died and is running slow now.

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
