Nintendo has joined the ranks of just about everybody else in allowing you to skip the middleman by opening up their own online shop, this time it is the turn of the UK to get one. It is a bit clunky in places and the stock is largely as you might expect from these sorts of shops (current devices, some accessories, some charting first party stuff and some of the more noted games as well as the more notable releases from the same). Amusingly they are actually more expensive or equal to the likes of Amazon for the things checked.

even those Limited Edition Mario and Luigi Remotes

if it's Limited or Special Edition, that's where you're going to have to get it by the looks of it

This is more cool than i thought something like this would be. Apart from... Y'know, that eyesore. The 2DS.

meh.

Thought it would be like the NA one, where we could buy spares without phoning Nintendo or jumping through hoops.

I see they are straight in with RRP prices as well. Standard colour XL £179.99, I guess they don't want to sell any considering they are at least £10 less everywhere else.

I gotta say, it's about time Nintendo kicked off with something like this. Can't wait to see what kind of exclusive swag they'll be selling there. :yay:

"They are not stocking our consoles? Fuck that, we will do it old school just as we did it for the N-E-S!"

You mean "license it to Mattel, let if flop all across the board and finally release it again under your own name at the very last moment, way past the point when they could interest anyone in it"? Oh yeah, I'd like to add that Mattel NES machines are not 100% compatible with all NES games/accessories, alienating early adopters. Quality marketing right there... :tpi:

After the great crash, Nintendo had to sell NES door to door lol.

Not to mention that it was only "spectacularly successful" in the U.S and Japan - in Europe, Amiga's, Commodore 64's, ZX Spectrum's and other flavors of proto-PC's reigned supreme. That's not to say that the NES is any less legendary than what the tales say - it set the standards for future generations and changed the way people "game". ;)

Oh my god, Mario and Luigi remotes? I love the UK; they're my second favorite place, next to Japan. :D Now all they need is a Princess Peach, Bowser, and Pikachu remotes. Anyone up for a Samus Aran remote? I could expect these to sell for $30 USD at least since they're so special.
