Depends on the brand there is plenty out there that don't help battery life at all

I have an extended battery for my 3DS original. It is about double the play time I would get before hand. Extended batteries do make the handheld thicker though...

Aye I got a Stamina pack for my PSP 3k I do have an extended battery for my DSLite and know it triples the life of the unit (especially when your rocking a flash card and EZ 3in1) but its thickness bothers me and makes sure I cant put it in any cases...

That said I got a battery extender for PSP1k too from madcatz that has its own 2200mah battery and you insert your normal battery into that to make a 4400mah one xD but its a huge ass tumor on one side of the PSP xD
