You need to check the firmware to see if it has an E, U or J, since it's Singapore it's understandable that it wouldn't be E, it might be a U system, you need to look it up though.

i have firmware version 4.3.0-10U so does this mean i can buy and work with games from the Americas??

Yup, it means you can only get the games from the U region, you can get them from http://www.play-asia.com/ for example, but in general you pay more for them because of the shipping.

the 3DS has 6 regions, alot of people (specially ones here) dont seem to know that

go under your System settings and tell us what letter follows the firmware number
The Singapore 3DS is U region.

I have a 3ds xl that reads that it works for games on Singapore malasya UAE and Saudi Arabia , i guessing that is the region ,, even thou the language of the system is in English . i recently bought dead or alive dimensions from the UK and it does not regonize the game cartridge on my system i guessing its because of the region thing??? is there a way to make it work???
Well theoretically if you had a 3DS cart dumping tool you could dump the ROM and play it on a Gateway 3DS.
But that's the only way for now :P In the future there will probably be CFW that allows this.

lol i already mentioned the U region

im on about there are 6 in total different region 3DS codes
other countries may use same as others but there is still 6 main different ones
I'm just saying it's not relevant to the OP and his 3DS is U region and his Canada game should work fine. That's what I was trying to tell you.
I know Singapore 3DSes are U region, as I have a little brother there.

For now there are no methods of booting a game from a different region on your 3DS without the use of flash carts, however there's a fair chance that there will eventually be a custom firmware or a firmware patch allowing this sort of thing, so my suggestion to Gjergji is to stick to his 4.3 firmware or never update beyond 4.5, as those firmwares have the best chances of pulling off such in-depth modifications at this point in time.

I understand that you clearly want to go legit as you ordered the game from abroad, however do consider purchasing a flash cart, this will allow you to go Region Free. Once a "legal" modification that gets rid of the region lock pops up, and it will pop up sooner or later, you'll have a stack of game cartridges to play.

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
