Starting tomorrow, the price of the PS Vita will be dropped to $199. The memory cards are also cut down significantly.

I like the memory card price drop, been thinking of increasing the memory to 16GB, may go for a 32GB now.

Hmmm dunno I allways liked the PSP but it is not worth it for me as I do not play sport games or most other stuff for PSP and PSV ... I would only concider it if there would be cracks / jailbreak / cfw whatever you call it available so I could get the few interesting EU games and all the Japanese stuff ^^

Isn't the Vita region free? I'm pretty sure it is.

Anywho going to wait for the 6.3 inch vita with 1GB ram that was rumored to be released later on this year.

It's significant to them as it mean they may or may not see a profit being made on them.
Well, the memory cards are pretty much all profit. They're pennies to manufacture. They're price is pretty dependent on how much of a loss they're taking on the Vita itself. The Vita is getting a steep price drop, so it isn't surprising to see that the memory cards aren't taking as large of one. Everybody has to consider though: if they dropped memory card prices by 60%, but only dropped the Vita by $50, people would still be saying that both the Vita and the memory cards cost too much. By dropping the Vita to $200, the price is much more appealing than it was at $300, and with the dropped memory card prices, any holdouts that were being influenced by the price could be swayed.

Now, I don't think this will boost sales significantly. This is a price drop that came too late into the Vita's life to have a significant impact (unlike the 3DS price drop that happened ridiculously early). It should help though.
