Which do you prefer for place names?!

  • Stick with Japanese names for all names.

I Agree with Raulpica,I Have Been Playing This Game for Some time and been Enjoying the Game

i have a japenese friend who speaks really good English who could help translating
1. Have them sign up.
2. Have them PM Yugix with a show of their skills
3. Make sure they prove they're trustworthy
4. Profit

 I loved the "Profit" part.

Ocardman, even if they don't have a membership here, if I can get a way of communication with them "gmail" or whatever, it is fine.

Hey there,

I've been watching this for eons and it seems you're stuck. I know of a person that could help you with the translation of the story, but I'll need to see the raw script.
Could you PM me the script or post it in this thread?

I believe that if you release the script, others shall be able to tell if they can actually help or not.

Thank you

Maybe i'm speaking out of turn here as a mere localizer.
But no

The script was open before and people sabotaged it. Now its only available to those who are part of the team or helping the team.
If you want access to it, demonstrate what you can do to aid its progression

All vermili0n asked for was to see the raw script, I don't see why that would be a problem.
Firstly, it's raw, meaning no translation has been done.
Secondly, if it's just a copy of it, even if it was worked on it wouldn't matter.
Giving people such grief when they're trying to help out is no way to help this project.

Anyway, if you just PM yugix you can talk to him about the script and helping out, PMing him would be the best way to do it :)

I'm sure what BlackIce was referring to was the part he mentioned about releasing the script, of course that the raw script just being sent to him wouldn't do any harm, however making the script public, would end up badly.

That's the thing, he didn't say anything about making it a public thing that is used by everyone.
I took what he said to mean that if there was easy access to the RAW script, people could easily see it to judge if their knowledge is enough to help etc.
If he meant what you think, then fair enough that didn't work.

Hey there,

Just to make it clear, I was not asking to turn this translation into an OP.

If people could read the script, those willing to help could easily judge if their knowledge – but also their time, and energy – are enough to get this done.

Otherwise, how could we commit and be responsible with the project? Both are especially important, because fan-translations are a rather philanthropic activity where the only thing in play is an internet name.

It worries me that you’ve been doing this translation for a while... Soon enough, the game will be so old that you -may have- to quit and start something anew.

If I read correctly, you are estimating about 3 years of work.
I'm only talking about a chance to speed things up.

Thank you!

Hi all,

Due to these posts above, I decided to, and uploaded a RAW Story PAK to my Drive and it can be accessed by anyone but can't be edited (Even if they can, I won't take anything from it).

So, if you have anyone who is willing to help, give them the link below and they can see it to decide whether to translate or not.

Also, I will check (if there was anyone who participate) whether they have the knowledge to do it or not by a small test, similar to what Black-Ice put before.

So, please find the PAK link below.
Link is here

Is that the whole story script? I thought it would have even more text. xP
I could ask some my Japanese friends as well to see if any of them have any interest in translating a bit (their english levels are pretty good).

I mentioned it 10000000000000000 times, there is actually no one right now who translate the story. My knowledge in Japanese is not that much so I can't translate story.
So, if you think we are "slow", try to do something productive and bring someone who can help or wait.

I was trying to help you by providing a japanese thesaurus rom but we're not allowed to post them :( :( :(

By the way, I wasn't harrassing you people like supervisor raulpica said but let me tell you I didn't want to trouble or worry anyone..........If anyone gets annoyed by this post then sorry in advance :( :( :(

It's not the whole script since the last line in his drive is translated to something like "Excuse me, why you are not eating something (now)" I think.
It's not ending sentence to a game.

Weird, because when Pokemon BW2 was Japanese we had patch and after week-2 weeks translations we had newer version for it. And DS:LS is translated that lot, but still no patch...
Different game. Different programming. Different number of people attempting to translate game.

Your question is like asking why we have not developed a cure for AIDS when crocs' immune systems can tackle HIV.
