Hacking Should I buy a 3ds XL now?

I know that the 3ds XL comes with a firmware below the necessary for gateway3ds. My question is: if I buy one will there be things I can do on it before I actually get a gateway 3ds? Is there way to download 3ds ware games to SD and play them?

I personally gave up waiting for a way to pirate games/eShop games and just bought a 3DS and Fire Emblem. Then it snowballed into me buying cheap secondhand 3DS games. In short, you could keep waiting for a refined way of playing 3DS games or you could just buy one now and just buy and play the games you want.

OK, so with the new two week extension till gateway comes out, I am going to buy a 3ds with fire emblem. I've read turn off spot pass, street pass, and wifi, but if I still plan on buying gateway will fire emblem make me update to a firmware that gateway will not work with?

You can keep all those things on, but the 3ds will download the update and it will ask you if you want to install every time you turn it on, so you can just mash b as you boot up.

I would wait until there is a good sale. I was able to nab the Pikachu 3DS for 160$ when it came out and there usually are great deals every other month. I would check kotaku for weekly sales.

Well, I don't know about you, I have a Vita. I spent a lot of money buying games for it, both download and physical, so I can't afford buying more for another system. I myself will only
go for the 3DS when it gets hacked. I know, I am a Jack Sparrow, but I am also not rich, and I love gaming =(.
Since me and my brother will share money to buy a PS4, I will not care about buying PS4 games, but only I will play the 3DS, so I can't lose more money.

To sum up, I will wait until it's confirmed that it works, so I can spend money on the handheld. If you don't have another handheld or any gaming machine of any sort that eats your money,
I would still buy the 3DS. You can always find cheap games if you dig enough, even used ones. It's worth it
