It will be built tomorrow, but you can't hold the celebration (for completing it), or work on other projects. (At least, that's how it worked when I timetraveled)

Not really, no. I don't see the appeal of randomly going to the island with random people. Especially, since they can mess up your chances of getting good sharks/bugs.
