Makes sense. So, basically you'll need the flashcard, various sizes microSD cards and a save dumper so you can backup your saves in case you want to play another game.

Well, it's a start heh (if real ofc lol)

it works pretty much the same as the Ace3DS Pro but they worked out a method to use MicroSD cards rather than De-soldered 3DS game chips

Ok so my questions are as follows.
How does this just "work"? straight up "work"? no custom menu to boot into, no special "disguised" game like the DSTWO and stuff... However that might explain why it can only be one game.

Works with "all" roms to date? How can there be not a single rom that has problems? No AP, Whitescreens, whatever?

its basically a 1:1 clone of a gamecard
with changeable game chip

if nothings edited theres nothing for it to fail checks against is there
if theres no custom code running through it nothing can trigger AP as its all signed nintendo code, just running through a modified piece of hardware that has the interchangeable game chip

Hmm, well this is certainly interesting, quite impractical in that you need an exact microSD card size per the size of the rom you wish to load, and that you must sort out the save data before switching roms.
However though this is the first foot in, it looks like at long last.

Edit: I'd wager that because of the process involved, it's still not possible to bypass the region lock though.

I don't really care if it's practical or not. If I can avoid spending $70 per game (which is the price around here) it's a deal for me. Even if it costs double the price of a retail card and forces me to never update my 3ds again.

Seems pretty cool, hopefully this is real!
But i think i'm just gonna wait untill there is a software hack out (if it will ever come out in the public).

indeed it will not bypass the region lock
its modify nothing, its just a Cart Clone

it could be like another SD card slot, because when you switch SD cards on the 3DS, you can get games that you have bought and put on a different SD card and keep on switching between them.

Won't just formatting the mSD to the size of the rom do it?(sorry if question sounds stupid)

Pong, correct me if I am wrong, but I thought the problem with the Ace3DSPro was that the security chip only worked for one game, hence why they only used a shitty baseball game. Wouldn't that same issue be posed here, now that we potentially have the capability to swap the rom out?

this is from Garyopa on maxconsole:
Yep, it is real.

And for those asking, it is 'early video' before the 'game manager' was finished in coding by the homebrew developers, reason for 3 microsd one for each rom.

And it should be shipping in less then 2 weeks.

Holy shit O_o That video is flawless and look legit. I already have a ton of micro sd cards so the save thing isn't a problem for me. XD

It certainly is a way better video then crown3ds ever made. Highly impractical if Pong's analysis is correct, but if its cheap enough it might be good for trying out games.

Game manager? As in a loader? As in? What?

but why do you guys say that the SD card has to be the same size as the game?

becuase the game knows its size
so you basically have to turn a MicroSD into a gamechip

it wasn't that it was a security chip
its that the game chip was just taken from a 3DS game and routed into the card with the Ace3DS Pro hence why it only worked once
its not that your swapping the rom, you effectively swapping the chip there will be only a small amount of custom stuff inside to make the data off the MicroSD to a Chip sort of connection (like a MicroSD to GameChip adapter)
