I Was sitting here backing up some files, (gog.com game installers i bought) and thought what do others use?

I Noticed these days for simple "Put files on a disc" the windows 7 native burning seems great I normally burn in multi session which it also supports (for PC backing up)

Image burning and copying I still use ImgBurn however, but for simple backups finding windows native fine.

How do you guys write your discs, what apps if any do you use ?

Despite the name, it does all sorts of discs and works on modern OSes too, they just never bothered to change the name even when updating it. It gives me just enough control over the disc imaging process to do whatever I need, and it made splitting all my files into segments to burn as backups relatively easy.

Custom, while 7 does support ISO burning it is not that great, and is prone to errors sorry I can't suggest a tool for the job but I have not burned DvDs or CDs in years now.

Unless you have specific needs, the built in tools in Win7 work just fine
No, it does not. It is prone to errors, especially with odd sized ISO files I have ruined to many DVDs trying to do back ups from ISO images to care to count.

Just standard writable DVDs, how many issues you have with it producing bad disks depends on your disk drive, it is touchy on certain ones, really touchy.

ImgBurn for ISO backup.
Nero for burning lot's of file.

Other software specially the other Nero alternatives gives too much problem when burning more than 1000+ files.
was using DVD Clone before ImgBurn, it was great but... I also prefer free stuff which does the exact same thing.
