I saw this bit where you mentioned it, the
, but you also have a R4i cart mentioned on the chart (the Gold/DSN). Is that one somehow different from other R4i's?
Yes, it mentions why. There are teams that try their best to give support, and then there are teams that will put out new models (meaning you need to but another) instead of providing updates for the old ones.

It may not affect users on a DS/Lite, but you shouldn't encourage them to pull dick moves by buying from them anyways.

So the DSTWO is able to play in the latest 3DS firmware, is that right? I only only the R4 mentioned in this topic did.

as it was discussed, Teams drop updates for cards and produce a newer card so you have to buy a new one
the R4i-gold.com team have had 9! cards since 3DS launch
gives you and idea as we have only had 16 3DS updates
so there cards on average get updates for about 3-4 3DS updates and then you have to buy a new card

or

you could buy a DSTwo which over all of the 16 updates and the DSi ones you have only had to have bought the 1 revision they have always had

I would like to purchase a DSTwo but I can't find a single shop that accepts PayPal. Anyone know a reputable shop that accepts PayPal?

Well, it took a while but I finally found a site that accepted my PayPal payment. I used nds-card.com and I'm seriously hoping it is a legitimate site less I lose $40... Fingers crossed!

Hi. My mum is looking for a new card because someone lend it from her and never gave it back. All she really wants is play games on her DS XL.
Now I use an acekard and I think she did as well, but reading here it seems there is a problem cause of no more updates?
So would that be a problem for her? And according to this list it seems acekard is not compatible with her nintendo but on all the shops I've visit it says the acekard 2i is okay with her nintendo. Thanks in advance

I still use the acekard I bought years ago and must admit to never after the first one, updating. And not really having any problems. I have a nintendo Di

The acekard stop getting firmware update so she might have to get an updated flashcard. Tell her to try the R4i Gold 3DS or the DSTWO. If she want to play gba games then tell her to get a DSTWO but its a bit pricey.

Thanks. I copied what you said and linked her to a shop with R4i gold cards but she called and is interested in the dstwo card. Well I have read a lot of positive things about that one so I searched and got her a shop where she can buy it. Yes it is a bit more expensive but I think worth the extra 10 euros. Thanks again. :)

It worked for some updates, but it does not work for the latest one.

That's because you haven't updated the DSi's firmware via trying to use the eshop, but if you try and it updates, the Acekard will never work on that DSi again.

This is why the AK2i is no longer a suggested cart for DSi/3DS users.

hi,

im planning to buy a R4i-gold from zhuzhuchina.

That's the one you want. $12 with no box, $12.50 with the box if you order it from there.

Is there a 3ds flashcart with auto anti ap like the dstwo. The dstwo is too expensive.
Nothing that still works on the recent models. The DSTwo is the only one with that feature that still gets updates. The DS is dead as far as big game releases anyways though so it's not as much of a worry.

Just more-recent or less-recent hardware revisions, and you want the most recent.

okay thanks! last question, haha sorry. some sites don't indicate which version the card is, how would i know if it is the latest hardware revision?

Thanks

Sorry for my ignorance. Know lots about the Wii hack scene but little to nothing about DS and just bought a DSi for my son. So, what's the difference between R4iDS and R4iDSN? There are so many R4... that it's really confusing.

I just bought this one http://nds-card.com/ProShow.asp?ProID=149 , should be OK, right?

Thanks for your help.
