Hello my wii is broken. When I turn up the power of my wii it shows Wii system error etc. Also the text are broken.
Hold the (+) and (-) buttons when starting. If it starts that way it's because of a corrupt message on your message board. If it's not that, hope that you have Either PriiLoader (hold the reset button while powering up) installed or have BootMii installed as Boot2 (if it flashes the light 2 times when you start up and there's no SD card in the Wii) Otherwise there's no way to fix it. Anything you do you'll need to do from the HBC and if you don't have one of those 2 things you can't get to HBC and you're basically bricked. Besides what scooby74029 said, if you recently installed a channel, it might have a corrupt banner and you'll need to remove the channel.

Hey everyone, like many who post here I am brand new to this. I have an older generation Wii on 4.3U. I recently followed this softmod guide to install everything

I did everything except downgrade my system menu to 4.1. I still have all the different loaders installed (USB loader GX, CFG loader, WiiFlow, Neogamma) but can't get any of them to recognize my USB hard drive. My hard drive is formatted to Fat32 using EaseUs Partition Master. I've tried 2 different hard drives including a WD 160GB Passport Essential which is listed as confirmed working. All my Homebrew apps and emulators are working great. Just can't get the USB going. Also, not sure if this matters but WiiMC recognizes all of my hard drives. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Josh

you might try finding the config files for the loaders in question and delete them and start the loader again to see if it will let you choose where the games are stored

are your games in a folder called wbfs?
hey, thanks for the reply. yeah I tried that without luck. and all my games are in wbfs format. i'm thinking of trying to format the hard drive in wbfs or ntsc to see if that changes anything.

I have a Wii (US) from a few years back. Installed twilight hack and The Homebrew Channel. Burned DVD's in order to play games. Because of the "troublesomeness", it's been a while since I last used it. I just found out that we can now plug in external drives with the iso in it and run from there. How would I go about doing all that again?

get modmii from the stickies at the top of this forum or from my sig and use the wizard tell it that your wii is virgin and rehack the wii with the guide it produces to update the mod as well as format a HD and get a usbloader of your choice i recommend wiiflow or cfgloader in my opinion they are the best

or you can go for full emulation of the wii and use uneek+di or neek20+di

modmii is a pc program that will download all needed files and create a custom guide

Hi,
i currently have a hacked Wii and want to get my bought VC games transfered to the WiiU, but I dont want to upgrade the Wii to ruin my installed software. What's the best way to get access to the Shop Channel without updating my Wii so I can install the transfer software?

hi guys im kinda new to the wii scene, ive only applied soft modding recently off a guide from another site and all seems fine. Now my brother had some games that i wanted to backup for my wii, these are original PAL discs, and ive read some had protection on them and i was just wondering if someone could tell me if these do or not.
Super Smash Bros Brawl
Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2
Super Paper Mario
Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword
Mario Kart
Another question is do apps on the wii work kinda like the ones on the psp? when you move them from the SD card, they disappear and when you add new programs it adds them to the channel screen or is there another step like installing you have to do?

all apps are launched from the homebrew channel sdcard should have a folder called apps/whateverapp
you should have installed priiloader and then enabled the hacks like no disc check and no disc update and this will get rid of most of the protection

I'd use modmii to download the WAD for the newest shop channel (and download a WAD manager to install it with if you don't have one.)

run a syscheck. it will give you info about what you have installed and you don't even have to understand it. You can just give the syscheck log to modmii and it will interpret it for you and download what you need to update everything that's out of date as well as instructions.
