I've tried using this guide, but whenever I insert the card into my DSLite or Fat NDS, nothing shows up where the game icon should be.

This is the card I have:

This is a screenshot of what I have on the root of the memory card:

I probably don't have the correct version of DSLite or NDS necessary for setting this thing up.

Does anyone have any suggestions or anything at all that could help me? I'd really appreciate any help you could throw my way, I've been trying to do this on my own for a couple of days now. :I

EDIT:

So, I tried "upgrading" my card using a few of the links on the r4ids.cn site. The only one I got to "work" was this one:
33bz39h.jpg

After I ran the program on my DS Lite, it said the upgrade was "suceeds." This is what the root of my card looks the same as before, but I feel like somehow I am missing something.

In another file I downloaded from the r4ids.cn site, it contained a folder called "_SYSTEM_" and a file called "WOODR4.NDS"

Do I need either of those files?

Sorry for being such a hassle, I would just really like to get this set up. ; ~;

First, thank you Tacky, for taking the time to reply and try to help.

I reformatted my card and tried putting the files you suggested on there. I am still not getting a game icon in any of my systems.

The files in the root of my card now are:

actually those files are broken, i have no idea why Another World uploads them as they dont work

here are the working ones
http://filetrip.net/nds-downloads/flashcart-files/download-r4idscn-wood-158-f31937.html

notice the file size is much larger

Picture above indeed shows what it should look like
but if you use the files posted previous uploaded by Another World you wont get past the loading screen

Hmm... well I have tried the files Tacky has posted, and they didn't work.

I also tried the files you posted Pong, but I still don't get a game icon to show up. :C

what do you mean the game icon isnt showing up??
that either means the Card is not making a connection to the 3DS or the card is dead
if you ran the update on teh DSLite it means the card it booting fine though
it must be failing to make a connection in the 3DS

you only need the files i supplied on the card
and then any game backups (acquired legally of course)

if it is a new card YOU SHOULD NOT APPLY AN UPDATE
as it will downgrade the card as new ones ship with the latest game headers

Just that. When I boot the card in my DS Lite or fat NDS, no game shows up.

It's not a new card, it's fairly old actually. I bought it used for $5 from a close friend of mine. He had it working before but he said after he tried applying an update it stopped working so he wiped it and could never get it to work again. This guy is very trustworthy and we've been friends for many years, so he wasn't trying to rip me off, he just wanted to get rid of some stuff before he moved to Japan.

to have run the update the card must have booted, so was it after that it didnt work?
because if so then the update must have gone wrong and bricked the card
and when you say boot it up? the card must show up as a game to boot?
or are you saying its not displaying the.nds games your putting on (you do realise if you are downloading them you have to extract them to get the .nds file)

The card is not recognized as a game. When I insert it into NDSLite or NDS, it simply says "There is no DS card inserted"

When I put it into the 3DS, it freezes and Im forced to shut it off.
