Hello everyone,

I'm getting a new flashcart for the first time for my 3DS. I've taken some research and decided that I'd get the R4i Gold flashcart since it's the most reputable and affordable one to date. However, I took another look at the carts and saw this R4 3DS Dual Core cart:

http://www.r43ds.org/products/R4-3DS-Dual-Core.html

Now what caught my eye was the "Dual Core" part, and I assume it gives faster boot times and such...more so than the R4i Gold I believe.

The initial product I was looking at was this: http://www.nds-card.com/ProShow.asp?ProID=149

With all the R4i products it's just hard to find out which is actually a good product. Are there any differences between the two cards that I'm looking at? Which one should I get? I'd also like to know if the first link that sells the dual core R4 flashcart is reputable as well. Thanks.

As TyBlood said. We have a sticky for a reason. Most carts out there are lies and bad products, like the one you looked at. The cart is NOT actually "dual core", that's just a label they slapped on to get people like you to buy it. These things are not dealt with in the US, the Chinese WILL openly lie to you to get you to buy stuff because... what are you going to do? Sue them in a US court? Go to China over a $15 purchase?

We have a sticky for a reason, it lists the few carts we can still recommend.

I know, and I understand what you mean. I already looked at the chart beforehand and considered getting a R4i Gold already. I just wanted to clarify if I had missed something new or what not because it just popped out recently (at least to me). Thanks for the help, I appreciate it. I assume that Wood R4 is the firmware used for this?

Yeah, the thing is "R4" isn't a company or something, it's the name they all use nowadays because people associate it with flash carts.

And yes, the r4ids.cn one uses Wood, but it's not firmware. Firmware is for DSi/3DS compatibility, things like Wood are the OS/Menu/Kernel, and are for DS game compatibility.

Ah, okay then. Thanks for the help!
