So it works, but not guaranteed to forever, just like official non-clone carts I used to own R4, and Ak2i?
Did you just skim or something? What I've been linking you to IS a comparison to how the Ace sucks compared to proper support and such.

There's no promise that any flash carts will last forever, but you'd have to be stupid to specifically choose one that has a HIGHER chance of dropping support/updates than the others (compared to the likes of the DSTwo, which is the only cart to NEVER have needed a hardware/model update).

Are you just ignoring what everyone is saying on purpose or do you genuinely not understand any of this?
If you had tried DS and NES games on the DSTwo, you'd find they run fine as well, so that's not an accurate comparison at all.

Anything above that (SNES included) sucks on the DS, and if you had asked I would have told you to not even buy a DS for emulation. Hell, scroll up, I just told somebody that on this very page.

I've half a mind to remove the mention, but a lot of people are just fine with the slow emulation speed (for some reason) and would bitch to hell and back, so I'm considering just sticking a "DS emulation sucks, do not get a DS for emulation" note... but then some people would be all "Wahhh NES emulation works fine so you're wrong" at me. :\

I try to compromise officially, but when asked my opinion, I blatantly say to not even buy a DS for emulation.

Because it's a shit clone, and shit clones suck.

Ask all those people if they wish they had bought a DSTwo or R4i Gold instead. :P

Time and time again, most flash carts drop support and stop getting updates meaning they stop working on DSi/3DS systems, and stop being able to play new games. Even if carts appear to work at first, most carts will stop getting updated well before people stop buying them.

The carts in the first page are the few carts that have proven themselves to not pull that kind of crap over and over. In fact, when a cart DOES drop support, it's removed from the list (and the DS is pretty much dead, which is why the list is so small nowadays).

If you buy a shit clone, chances are you'll eventually come back here asking how to make it work on your 3DS after your 3DS updates (or how to get it to play new games), and the answer will most likely be "They stopped making updates for your cart, buy another one". Seriously, check out the forums here. Most flash carts are clones that drop support.

And yours appears to be one. Just look at the download page.
http://www.r4isdhc.com/r4-download/
Look at how many times your cart's team has changed hardware and stopped giving out updates.

Yes the DSTwo doesn't fit right in every slot (which, by the way, is a very recent thing), but the DSTwo is also the only cart that has NEVER needed a hardware upgrade to keep working, which is why we push it so heavily (the R4i Gold was as well, but then they cheaped out on some revisions and backed themselves into a corner, a mistake most Chinese products like this make).

The DSTwo's contact issues with the 3DS seems recent, and we're not sure if it's a DSTwo revision or a 3DS revision that caused it. Let the shop you bought the DSTwo from know that it doesn't work right and see if they'll send you a more recent replacement.

We have countless threads, stickies, and posts explaining why this isn't a good card and discouraging people against it, not because we hate the card or anything, but because it's no good. We are trying to help people get best product for the best price and help the community, we are not trying to be jerks.

Ace3DS plus works with what a flashcard needs to do
it has a non legit build of wood but works just as normal wood carts
the team seem to support the card ok
but all cards take a risk when the updates are released

Thanks. Seems this site is fluffing it's own feathers with what cards they promote. Looks like I saved money and will get a card that will do well. :)

Have fun with that, you idiot.

EDIT: By the way, it's not "this site". It's US. People. Us forum users, who have seen people LIKE YOU do this shit over and over. Which is why we linked multiple examples for you.

We, personally, as people, not linked to the site... we have seen plenty of people like you make this mistake.

And we're trying to stop you from making it.

I guess, I'm just sick of people ignoring the stickies and buying shit, then coming and complaining to us that they can't get stuff working. That's why I want them to not get shit in the first place. Saves both parties trouble.

I don't know, I suspect half the people that ask already ordered the cart before asking (outside of the ones that frankly admit that in the first post), and that's why they refuse to change and are so defensive and refuse to accept their decision was bad or something.

For good reason. I don't earn anything by recommending one cart over another. But hey it's your choice.

It seems you have already (subconsciously?) decided which cart you want. One person (despite pretty strong objection from others) was enough to sway your decision LOL

sooner you accept the fact you will never have that happen the easier life will be

^Though every person saved is another less "Boohoo y card no workz plz helpz noob here kthxbai" thread :P
That, and the problem with those is that most of the time when it's cart-specific, it's because of no updates and the person needs to buy another cart, which is obviously more hassle than just getting a more expensive but more-supported one to start.

people only seem to learn when money is involved
but as its a grey area being piracy related in the first place and what they can actually get in there country

everyone will buy a bad card at least once, unless willing to take info from others, saddly not everyone wants to listen

like a child and a flame, they will learn one way or another

I've unfortunately bought two bad carts, original R4 and the Ak2i, burned by both of them. Looking at the history myself, without the help of most of the unhelpful here, I found that this card is very well supported and receives updates as fast or faster than most others. A clone of the best should be well above the rest. :P

Update speed isn't what's important, it's the ability to keep getting updates and the willingness of the team to keep giving them. As a pertinent example, the Ak2i used to be the fastest. But it ran out of room, so it can't get any more updates (at least the current hardware revision). At the time it was the fastest and there were no hints of it being removed, it was suggested. Now it's not, due to the lack of updates.

Might want to read up on your behavior. :P

If you actually had the original R4 (as in ORIGINAL original one), I wouldn't say you were burnt given how much value you'd have gotten out of it.

AK2i was one of the better cards until a few months back with support all the way til 4.3. Given it's lifespan, I wouldn't consider it as a bad card. Splitting hairs here.

And sorry to burst you bubble but this is not a "clone of the best". It's nowhere near the DSTwo. Which does not have a clone at this point in time afaik. :P
