For those curious how, I traded my old second 60 GB PS3 for it (the launch one) to a (questionably intelligent) "friend" of a friend. I was originally gonna sell it for $160 to the guy, but he pulls Vita out of nowhere and my friend makes a joke about trading for it, and the dude looks him dead in the eyes and accepts (!!!). So I got his Vita and free 4GB card. I also have a Plus account, so I already had some games for it. I was also supposed to give him $20, but he seems to have completely forgotten so..... Yeah.

Just a cool thing to mention: the Vita unfortunately had a malfunctioning touch screen (the guy didn't know about it afaik). Sony wouldn't fix it without proof-of-purchase, otherwise I had to pay $130. My friend also happens to work at a game retailer, and printed me a VOIDED RECEIPT so I could get it fixed. That is beyond awesome.

tl,dr Got a Wi-Fi Vita and I currently own Uncharted, Gravity Rush, WipeOut 2048 and that SmashStation All Bros off of PS+. Also borrowing Persona 4, which is really the only thing I'm playing right now. Is there anything else that's worthwhile right now?

Just to get it out of the way:
VITA HAZ NO GAEMS!

But seriously, Metal Gear Solid HD (but the PS3 version is better), Retro City Rampage (also on PS3), Assassin's Creed Liberation, Need for Speed: Most Wanted (If you don't feel like disowning EA after SimCity), Virtue's Last Reward, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time are a place to start.

Both Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Mortal Kombat are excellent versions. On-par with the console versions essentially (although Mortal Kombat has kinda eh graphics but it runs at a silky-smooth 60 FPS for dem animations).

Also Lumines: Electronic Symphony is pretty awesome. Dynasty Warriors Next is great if you like Dynasty Warriors. If not, then best avoid it.

I'm a console-only guy when it comes to fighters, though I've messed around with UvMC3 on Vita and it was pretty good. I've also got Retro City Rampage thanks to PS+, as well as Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus (sucks though compared to PS3 Sigma or Black). I COMPLETELY forgot about Sly Cooper, so I'll definitely have my eye on that. Same for Zero Escape.

Right, my recommendations:

  • Getting PSPlus is a *must* - not only you get cool discounts, you get games for free as long as you're a subscriber.
  • Uncharted: Golden Abyss (You'll get it from PSPlus, fantastic game with stellar visuals)
  • Gravity Rush/Daze (You'll get it from PSPlus, charming artwork, requires a lot of practice when it comes to camera manipulation while keeping up with the fast pace of the game which is something some people love and some people hate. A bit on the short side, but you'll get it for free with Plus so hey! Enjoy it!)
  • Wipeout 2048 (Fantastic music, very fast-paced, quite adrenaline-pumping)
  • Mortal Kombat (Man, oh man - love me some Mortal Kombat and this version didn't really suffer much after being converted to the portable format - in fact, all the DLC from the PS3 version is built-in AND you get PSVita-specific content. Must-have if you like fighting games)
  • Lumines: Electronic Symphony (If you like puzzle games. Quite a fancy soundtrack too!)
Those I would recommend to any gamer owning the system. Of course there's more - I quite enjoyed the Ragnarok Odyssey demo, but I don't have the full game so I won't "risk" recommending it. There's also Ecolibrium, which is a free game for the patient which I happen to enjoy.

But your other suggestions are good.

If you're into SRPGs you could get Disgaea 3, which has all the extra content that was at paid dlc on the PS3 for free. It'll be free on PS+ later this month though.
