The WiiU version could be released if it wasn't for Microsoft's terms.
I'm not sold on that being the reason, Ubisoft could have easily released this and THEN announced a port after. You know just like Tecmo did with Ninja Gaiden 3: Razer's Edge.

Anyway it's nice that Ancel and Co are doing this, it won't make a shit of difference to the big whigs though.

Much respect to the devs... I mean the anonymous dev who spoke about the rush they were put into to get the game out in time already made it pretty clear how the devs thought about this whole mess of a situation but it`s great to see them speak up this bravely!

Also I can`t get over the fact this delay really happened... I really hope they can handle the port to PS360 without Ancel, because that guy should work on BG&E2! I need that game ASAP!

Basically what McHaggis said. Ubisoft could just release the wiiu game and then announce that they're willing to make a xbox360 port (aside the already announced PS3 one). Heck...they can throw in some polish, artwork, some extra levels and all that jazz into it.

Then the ball is in microsoft's court. Then it'll be THEIR turn to come up with lines like "erm...yeah. Because we put our customers in the first place, we decided not to allow it to be sold on our console". They'll risk putting all the fans (their own customers) against them. And I doubt they'll going to risk it, as the explanation would be even more stupid than ubisoft's stance right now ("we want to make sure things are new when they are released on our consoles. Because...erm...you like new games, right? Now forget about that rayman character. And stop drawing fan art, okay?").

6 months isn't a lot of time to add new content, considering the fact that they also have to produce a new demo for the Wii U and port all the code they have to 2 other platforms, cut out all the GamePad only bits whilst still making sure the rest of the game looks ok, then get it ready for production. Don't expect any new content.
As the game was confirmed a timed-exclusive, I dont think think they'd have to develop the games on the PS360 from scratch, they probably have an early build already.

Also this isn't a new policy for Microsoft and many ps3 game suffered from this; the multi plat version for both ps3 and xbox 360 have to get exactly the same content on disc while the PS3 had a much bigger storage limit on the disc. Here many features that were planned for the ps3 release were ultimately removed from it by the publisher so they could release the game to both the hd consoles.

They could've but they didn't. And even then, Ninja Gaiden 3 is a weak argument as people who bought the original, probably wouldn't buy NG3:RE. Rayman is a much bigger game, has a bigger fanbase after the fantastic Origins, and Legends is entirely new.

Though a study of the end results of PS3 and 360 iso sizes (the 360 has quite a few games below its DVD9 limits- http://www.stripesonfire.com/xbox-360-game-install-list/ ) might be interesting I can still believe it. Do you have any choice examples of this happening as keeping a few in mind for a future debate would seem to be a good idea? All I really have is stuff like the barely relevant ( http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-vs-hdmi ), a few graphics comparisons which are useful enough for what they are but not so much here (graphics are not content and I struggle to believe the PS3 missed out on HD texture packs or something with the underlying hardware), a few "PS3 is hard to code for" type articles (again not really relevant) and some stuff on audio and video compression which I am inclined to dismiss under "audiophools at it again".

The solution is simple, then. The disc only ships with a title screen, and requires free on-disc DLC to be played. The 360 and Wii U version both launch this month, but only the Wii U version will have the on-disc DLC available for unlock, while 360 has to wait until September.

Technically they COULD incorporate Murphy levels, even without Vita/Smartglass integration. But it would be extremely clunky.

I thought that was the plan, to get around or avoid the Murphy levels somehow...
I would assume that the Murphy levels are designed around that gameplay feature and wouldn't work well with regular platforming. The smarter choice is just to remove those levels entirely.

You don't usually go public saying "hey big boss, F--- You and your shitty decisions... Me, your fellow employee and friends here, are going public and points that you are the bad guy and make bad decisions!"

Shit like that gets you fired quick... I know he's a "legend" in the Ubisoft world or something... but still... going public and basically blaming your big boss and pointing he made a shitty decision is not a thing you do and actually get away with it... surely shit already hit the fan for Ancel and his team about this ordeal. I cannot see anyway this stunt ended well for them.

Sure I don't agree the game got pushed 6 months just to be ported... like F--- WiiU didn't get a good break since it came out... it only got ZombiU and Nintendo's first party exclusive... all the rest are fucking lame ports... Rayman seemed like an awesome exclusive for the console... not anymore... F--- Ubi wont port their upcoming Splinter Cell on WiiU... they didn't do FarCry3 for WiiU... why penalize the console so much like that?

With the upcoming next Gen consoles from Sony and M$... if all the rumors are true about the "no used games" and constant internet needed to play even offline games... The Nintendo WiiU will prolly be the only decent console Gamers will have without getting screwed over. Ubi shouldn't F--- Nintendo like this.
