you bought a known clone running a hacked version of the wood kernel (perhaps v1.20).

this is why we have stickies: http://gbatemp.net/threads/which-flash-cart-should-i-get.290097/

i'm not even sure if that card works on an updated 3ds. you will get some measure of enjoyment out of it, but don't expect it to play everything and work without issue.

awhile back flash kits in the UK were made illegal, i'm not sure who is still selling them and who is really in the UK. perhaps someone from the UK would be able to answer that.

definitely look into the supercard ds2. its proven to be the only kit that is easily updatable. you might also really enjoy its features, like video playback, exclusive emulation, slow-motion, real time saves, etc.

I bought my DS2 from Chipspain (http://www.chipspain.com), the first one I got didn't work, and they sent me another one, it works completely fine. The card arrived in two days using UPS express mail.

I bought my r4i gold 3ds from Digimartz, I just checked the website, I don't know why but it seems the site is gone now. The card I ordered was sent from Hongkong using free airmail and arrived in 7 days. It works perfectly fine.

The two cards I think are good atm are Supercard Dstwo and R4i gold 3ds(http://r4ids.cn), they work on both 3ds and 3ds xl of mine, so if you want either of those two cards, I would suggest you go to their websites and look for official dealers and order from one of them. Your card might be sent from Hongkong or China but like in my case, my card arrived in 7 days, that's totally fine I think, as long as it works.

Cheers,

A list of official dealers selling r4i gold 3ds.

To be honest I prefer r4i gold 3ds over supercard dstwo, because I just don't find that I need every feature which the supercard ds2 offers. For example, the video playback feature, since it's a DS cart so you can't use the whole screen of the 3ds xl, your video is restricted to the size of a DS screen, that makes it not a pleasant experience to watch widescreen videos. To play video I simply use 3DS video convertor and convert my videos and then put them in my SD card. This way I can watch widescreen videos perfectly fine. However there's a disadvantage this way, that is the size of a good quality video is quite large, in my case minimum is about 50mb. I use a separate 32gb SD card just for video so it's alright I guess.

GBA emulator isn't really necessary in my case, Snes emulator isn't good enough to play games smoothly.

R4i gold 3ds card does the job of playing DS games very well, exactly what I need, on top of that, it's much cheaper than supercard dstwo. My r4i card costs like 10 pounds(free shipping), while my supercard costs like 35 pounds.

This is totally my opinion so do some research and choose which card is the best for you.
