Gaming Black Spots (Not Dead Pixels) on PSP 2000 Screen

Do you have screen protectors? because it just looks like there's been some "something" with the screen protectors... so just lift it up and put it back down

(that's what I can help with atleast)

EDIT: Oh, if it is condensation on the inside of the screen, maybe you could just open the console up and wipe it clean with micro fiber napkins

2. I'm willing to try that. I never opened up the psp before. hopefully i dont make it worse haha. something tells me though. i'm going to have to replace the whole screen anyways. so im totally ready to open it up. i'll update if theres any change. thanks for the suggestions.

Totally off topic and I am sorry but I am trying to buy another PSP for my bro so if you end up not wanting it anymore I will make an offer. I don't mind the screen problems.

My PSP-2000 has this same issue. I even opened up the system and tried wiping the LCD screen inside, to no avail. It's something inside the screen itself, I suppose the only fix is LCD replacement, but since I don't know how the spots got there to begin with (definitely not exposed to water ever) I don't know how it won't happen again.

But I have the exact same issue as you have. And On other website and google people seem to have the same problem but no solutions come up excpet for, REPLACE THE WHOLE SCREEN.

Now ok I can do that, but have you found another way? And maybe the cause of this problem???

But I have the exact same issue as you have. And On other website and google people seem to have the same problem but no solutions come up excpet for, REPLACE THE WHOLE SCREEN.

Now ok I can do that, but have you found another way? And maybe the cause of this problem???

Reviving a 2 year old thread aside..... suggestions are:
A. Remove the faceplate and clean the screen itself using a micro fiber cloth
or
B. Replace the entirety of the screen

If it doesn't come clean and the problem persists, give us more details and we may be able to determine the issue.

The issue is exactly that moisture has got between the backlight film and the LCD Display Panel.

Unless your extremely good at electronics you cant do much and should just replace the LCD if it bothers you

I do not believe it's moisture getting in there, there's no way with where I kept mine anything could have happened to it to cause that, certainly not without also messing up my GBASP and DS which are both fine. And the splotches kept multiplying, by the time I replaced the screen they'd taken over at least a third if not more of the screen. No, there's got to be something else happening with it.

SP Screen = Sealed like fort knox
DS Screens are pretty well sealed too.
PSP Screen has a plastic plate above it and isn't exactly sealed the best. So moisture is still possible. If you could take photos of the exact issue then we could help determine the problem.

EDIT: Also you fixed your problem. If the poster is still having issues they'll post about it. Please, don't bump old threads. This one already should've been left for dead.
