Hardware Getting a laptop for B-Day, need to know a few things.

My laptop has 630M as well and it plays games pretty good. think it played skyrim pretty well

Oh no, gaming isn't the only reason 8 worries me. Its the fact the whole OS looks like it should be on a tablet. I like customizing my stuff to my my taste and reworking UI's and such. With the other Windows it was simple since it was all Desktop. I made my last PC set up like an XMB. Win 8 worries me because desktop doesn't seem to have the spotlight anymore.

Also, local retailers take me for an idiot who's going to grab the first laptop I see because it says gaming on it and eBay is full of refurbs.

Doesn't Windows 8 Metro interface look exactly like prefious windows versions desktops ? I recall there even being a utility to boot directly into it...

Hmm, dedicated graphic card, How about on with a Nvidia GeForce GTX 280M ?

League of Legends crashes more often on Win8 with LolReplay than on Win7.

That a problem with LoLReplay. And for some reason they haven't updated it since September.

That a problem with LoLReplay.

Hence the "with LolReplay", but w/e. That is the only game that seemed to have some issues with what I was playing with. The other games I tried consisted of things like Bunny Must Die, Irisu Syndrome, Momodora, Momodora2, etc.

The metro UI doesnt look like the Desktop at all. Your thinking of the desktop app, which is missing the Start menu.
