Someone else has acquired the rights and is planning TV projects, home entertainment, merchandise and video games.

Not hyped. The original Terminator trilogy was good. (Well... the James Cameron ones were anyway.) Terminator Salvation wasn't very good.

So Star Trek, then Star Wars, and now The Terminator. I wonder what film franchise from 80s-90s is next?

Hmm- I saw the pilot for the TV show and gave up about 20 minutes into the second episode, played the awful Salvation game on the 360 (and a really old PC game earlier in history) for about two hours and I have some memories of watching the third film and none of it stuck. First two films were pretty good though, heard some of the books were not bad either.

I'm not really sure where the franchise could go, I mean most of the area is covered between the films and TV show.

Plus only like 1/2 of the Terminator movies are good (admittedly though they're not just "good", they're "excellent").

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
