CXMB works, just make sure you get the 6.x version and only use 6.x theme files.

ISO and CSO files should work if they were patched/decrypted properly. Some games that could have had custom patches to work on lower/older firmwares might not work, so make sure to get "universally decrypted" or "clean" ISO/CSO files.

This feels like a stupid question, but I don't want to risk bricking my system. I have a God of War PSP 2000, which I believe is a TA-88v2 motherboard? I'm not 100% sure. (Some of the sites I found the info on were pretty dated and the firmware was pre 6.60.) Now if it is, is it safe to run the CIPL Flasher to perma mod the system?

Once the temp hack is running, you can use the PSP-Ident homebrew to identify the exact motherboard just to be sure before applying the 6.60 CIPL perma patch.

It is a TA-088v2. So it should be safe to run CIPL Flasher to keep the system modded.

How would I go about getting from 6.39 pro-b7 to 6.60 pro-c? including the ofw. whats the exact steps I am on a psp-3000 and I don't wanna mess it up. Here is a pic of my psp when used with psp-ident thingy.

Install 6.60 OFW via the updater from http://us.playstation.com/support/systemupdates/psp/pc/index.htm->run the 6.60 pro-c installer(it will exit into temporary cfw)->then run the cipl flasher.

afterward, power off then see if the PSP boots up in 6.60 pro-c. it should boot right into cfw without the need to run the pro-c installer again.

Alright, so I got a PSP 1004 with 5.50-prome4 on it. Should I update the CFW to 6.60 PRO?

Prome was just an ISO compatibility addon for 5.x* that Prometheus developed before helping to found the PRO line of 6.x CFWs.
So it's like going from ME (late-day updates to the 9x core) to XP (intentional development of NT core).

* - it SHOULD say "M33" or "GEN", but the addon changes the name to indicate it's been installed... sort of a dick move removing the name/credits of the team that made the base CFW, but the M33/GEN teams died too long ago to give a shit anyways.

I AM USING A PSP 3000 ON OFW 6.20.
I AM ATTEMPTING TO USE YOUR 6.20 PRO (permanent) installation.

Uh when I launch the permanent patch, i tap X twice to test it. My PSP didn't reboot, where the Sony screen appears, it just went straight to the main menu. Does this mean it fails???
