People that don't want it on PS360 won't be that excited. I definitely hope that this game is available on all platforms cuz I absolutely want it. :P

You mean like the PC? It's on there.

Also if you're going to get upset about no Wii U port, do realize that there hasn't been a main series GTA game on a Nintendo console since fuck all (exception being I think GTA and GTA II ports on the GBA).

Spring 2013.... I was expecting 2014 or "holiday 2012" at the earliest.

Anyway if the guns work as well as the driving looks* to then it will probably only be just cause 3 that risks gaining my attention instead.

*the more excitable part of me is pondering if this might be the point at which running around, driving and shooting get merged into the ultimate timesink. Wrap in the somewhat enjoyable stories GTA games tend to have and yeah.

GTA Chinatown wars came out on DS first I think? And then later on PSP and iOS.
But that's not mainseries anyway.

I would be surprised if they did not bring GTA V to the Wii U since the system would be more than capable of playing it, even with any GamePad stuff.
The Wii U is focused on giving developers the means to bring 360/PS3 quality titles to Nintendo systems at long last.
I'd think that they may bring it to the Wii U before the PC because it's potentially a larger audience, and mutually beneficial for RockStar and Nintendo.

GTA Chinatown Wars was a pretty large flop though.

Rockstar has never hit it big with Nintendo consoles, there's no reason they'll start now honestly. I just think it's rather silly to get all upset that they're not making this for the Wii U when it's not like they have any pattern that would indicate otherwise.

GTA Advance was the only Nintendo only GTA game.
GTA and GTA 2 where ported to the GBC and they where extremely bad indeed.

As for the trailer.
Oh god GTA V looks gorgeous! <3

Thinking about it, these few Nintendo GTA games all came on Nintendo handhelds didn't it? Nothing on N64, Gamecube or Wii.
I heard Chinatown wars was critically acclaimed, but didn't sell like you say. This may've been more of a "handheld games are inferior" mentality than a "Nintendo games are inferior" mentality.

What might happen is that Nintendo would strike a deal with Rockstar to bring GTA V to the Wii U as well, giving more of a reason for people to buy the Wii U.

Personally I thought Chinatown Wars was a great game, it just didn't sell. I wouldn't say because it's "inferior" to the console games, it's different but it's fun and has a lot to do. It got great critical acclaim (one of the highest rated DS games in fact), it just sold poorly.

I'm just saying Rockstar have never been buddy buddies with Nintendo and they won't start now. There's no reason they'll port older Rockstar games like GTA IV or RDR to the Wii U. No one wants to buy a new system for old news.

It's all about perception, I guess the usual GTA fanbase either think little of Nintendo/handheld games, or did not like the look of the traditional top-down gameplay.

Of course Rockstar are not really buddies with Nintendo, but Nintendo might approach Rockstar.
Actually I just remembered that Rockstar's Bully had a Wii port, so that's something.

Not to mention Rockstar Table Tennis. I personally would love to see this on Wii U, but I'll get it for Xbox first.

I wouldn't buy old games on the WiiU if they were ported, but I'd rather get GTA5 on WiiU than on PS3, knowing that the WiiU will be better equipped to play a game like this.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

i dont have an sd card adapter but I have an usb sd card adapter

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    nvm it does support mine
