In an Investor Q&A, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata discussed the Backwards Compatibility regarding the Wii U console. Specifically the continuation of selling software for the Wii. He elaborates on the significance of giving the consumer a large library during a console transition phase, reducing the amount of devices on the T.V stand and capturing the consumers who never played Wii. There was no mention of the GameCube or GBA being re-released on Virtual Console. Both of which have been speculated to appear on the service sometime in the near future. You may read the entire O&A here

More old news. ;o;

But there are more notable bits of news then just this.

However, we do not intend to make downloadable or add-on content available for every type of game. We would like to supply consumers with only add-on or downloadable content which they are happy to pay for as compensation for creative work. For example, some might say that it would be unbelievably profitable to provide paid add-on content for "Animal Crossing: New Leaf," but we were concerned that a game in which you enjoy yourself more by the power of money would not be suitable, and we decided to avoid such a feature after an intensive discussion with the development team

Like no paid DLC for Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

it doesn't matter if every type of game gets dlc if they are garbage. it's only when the top games have dlc then it becomes a @%$#%@$#.

Not all the time. It can add on to what has already been presented.

That's pretty rare to find but yeah I have to agree it's possible.

However for most games it's just another shitty excuse for an unfinished game.
3 DLC's for 20 quid and the whole game for 60 quid.
That's not a game anymore it's just pure thievery imho.
