Hacking So I checked the list & am still not sure if my card is compatible

So my buddy recently gave me his old R4i Revolution which I read somewhere is compatible with the 3DS; when I put it in my 3DS it shows up as "Danny Phantom, Urban Jungle", anyways I followed the compatible list and based on the website listed on the card i went and followed this

" (4.4.0-10) R4i Gold Plus (r4ids.com) - 4.4.0-10 Standard update, Deluxe update"

I used the standard update; and booted the sucker up with my dsphat and installed the latest 1.9 firmware(ran the .nds firmware update, removed the card and put it back in) and it told me successful

So then I put the cart back into my 3DS and the game still shows up; but when I go to boot; it just says an error occured....any idea what happened?

Sounds like the update went wrong. You'll need to try to find a working update and apply it via another DS.

Hmm; what would imply that it went wrong? The DS told me it was succesfull and to reboot the ds which I did?


So turns out I have the r4ids.cn, but I got an older revision(below 9) I managed to get previous patch for 4.3.0.10 to work on my sisters 3DS(not currently updated). Now its just a waiting game until the team releases. Thanks again!

Nope; it works on my sisters 3DS(which has older firmware), I read up that the newer 3DS version of this card was the exact same but they just changed the sticker.

Huh? It says r4ids.com on the card but it is actually from r4ids.cn? *confused* (I have an r4ids.com card and it looks just like the pic you posted, except it also lists 3DS, DSiXL and LL.)

Sounds like the update installed an older set of data, not the set to bypass 4.4.x.

Hahaha I'm not sure where it's from, my buddy gave it to me, but I believe the .cn set is where its from seeing as the 4.3.0.10 worked and is playing on my sisters 3DS; and since it isn't working on my 4.4.x I'm assuming its a much older revision seeing as that they specify they are going to release a "non-3DS" version >9 revision. I can be patient

If it is an r4ids.cn card it should have the revision number on the PCB. Look at the back of the cart, above the metal connector thingies. There should be a single digit on the right that shows what revision your cart is.
Edit: unless you actually need to take apart your cart to see the number, I'm not really sure.

oh, hmmmm did you try the non gold update? from r4i-sdhc.com? maybe that instead of gold?

No no I'm not going to use some random one and risk damaging my card; I know for certain this one will work when they release the update seeing as it already does on my other 3DS

ah, i was just saying cuz the way your card looked in the pic... didnt look like gold, but i went back and read that it worked on another 3ds u used, so my bad
