So i got 3months of psn+ and downloaded the free games, I noticed when downloading one that it said I wouldn't be able to play them after my membership is up, Is this true? Who's gonna stop me

Man i dont know why that was so funny to me.
The game probably checks the date or the internet to see if you still have a membership. No membership no gaming for you.
Thats just my guess lol

there is some form of drm on there yes that check your subcription, some of the games I had free from psn+ after the outage last year stopped working for me when the subcription ran out, so think of it as a gloried rental service if you must

You lose the games. But if you get a subscription again, you get them back. I don't know what's so hard to understand. It's like Xbox Live. You buy a gold card, you're subscription runs out, you can't play online. It's like that. It automatically takes it away.

Think of it like subscription based TV. You pay the fees, you have access to the channels. You stop paying, you lose access to the channels. You're not buying these games, neither are you renting them.

And let's be honest, if you have a PS3, there's really no reason NOT to have PS+, especially if you have Xbox Live. PS+ just blows Xbox Live out of the water in every single way.

I guess that explains why cheap PlayStation Networks cards are difficult to come by.

I don't think they make PlayStation Network cards, I mean like one that you can buy just the Plus. As far as I know (according to the EB games here), they just print out a code for you on the receipt and that puts funds into your wallet, then you buy the plus.

I know you can't just buy PS+ outright. I meant that PSN cards are hard to find below their actual value for purchase. Unlike Microsoft points or XBOX Live cards.

EDIT: I was wrong. You buy PS+ memberships outright. My bad.

A one year subscription costs 25% less until the 19th of September but I'm sure everyone with a PS3 knows this already, what with the scrolling advert in the XMB notification area.

LOL the only reason I asked was my friend lost psn+ and had all his games but he hardly ever goes online, I did have my games after the psn shutdown without a psn+ subscription but those were the free ones, Anyone talk from experience?

Cross game voice chat I'll give you, but all the other services are there, even without PS+. Not to mention with PS+ you get discounts on games. It destroys Xbox Live. Xbox Live you gotta pay for Xbox Live, then you gotta pay for the service. At least with PSN, you just have to pay for the service.
