As long as you have an R4 Gold or DSTwo or some other flashcart that updates within 24 hours, you're good to go.

Nah, mine's a Acekard. It takes a long time to be updated.

Ugh. I pity you. I was almost going to get an EZ Flash Vi, but then I saw they haven't updated in forever even though they're technically "still active."

Why don't go for a R4i Gold 3DS(r4ids.cn),which is officially supported by WOOD and releases the updating patch just as fast as dstwo(withing 24 hours)...

If Nintendo issues a system update, what does it (USUALLY) contain?

a) behind the scenes updates
b) flashcard blocks
c) absolutely nothing, just an update to raise the number in the system settings
d) bug fixes that are actually useful

Well 1.1 fixed some network bugs, 2.0 brought the eshop and browser and software transfer, 2.1 brought the Ridge Racer bugfix, 2.2 added jumping into games from the friendslist, 3 was a big update that added 3D video recording, demos to the eshop, parental control panel updates and QR code transfer, 4.0 brought the ability to patch phsycial games and

Makes sense, but i wouldn't transform my 3DS into a Vita. I love the 3DS games.

I've heard that this update will lock your SD card to the 3DS. You won't be able to use it in anything before formatting it.

There's only one reason why that'd be stupid and that's because you wouldn't be able to transfer photos. The rest of the data there is useless by itself and you pretty much need to have an SD card in the system for most stuff. And you can only have one eShop account, so yeah.

by the way, there is no evidence that we will really have an update.

BUT:

Some users already admitted that it will come and block flashcards

AND

other users already know that it will block acekard and it will take long until acekard will be fixed

what's going on here is FANTASTIC!!!
