Gaming Im about to buy 3DS

Hello there GBATemp.

I decided to get either PSVita or 3DS. Please do not tell me to get vita,i have tried it,i didnt like it and it is overpriced.
So i am getting 3DS normal one,not the xl.

Although i have few questions:

1. Is there an option to chat with friends? I saw it has friends compatibility.

2. How is the camera,is it good for like taking some videos and other?
3. Are there online games such as coop platforming/ player vs player / strategy or something like that?

4. How is the Nintendo Network? Since Wii has no network and 3dS does (and WiiU will have it) how is it?

Thanks in advance,that is all i want to know. I wont change my decision,as i stated i am buying 3DS normal one.

2. it's decent for a handheld, only 0.3 MP iirc.

3. Yeah.... but not a lot, Kid Icarus has Online and MK7 also has online.

Thank you for the quick reply. I saw Kid Icarus and Heroes of ruin which have voice chat. That is enough for me,i just wanted to make sure to get few to have some fun with others.

I will check the swapnote thing because i would like to chat with some friends when i get it.

2. The camera is terrible rendering close to useless. I forget the thing has a camera because it is so bad. Only useful if you want mess about with the AR games.

3. Ghost Recon's Shadow Wars Tom Clancy (Strategy) offers some sort of cooperative functionality but it is limited, there's no online.

3. If you like Fighters: try Dead or Alive Dimensions it is awesome. maybe some Hero's of Ruin?

4. Nintendo Network works great, Mario Kart, Kid icarus, New Super Mario bros. 2 and theatrythm run on it. Theatrhythm for DLC, and works like a charm. Mario Kart also work perfectly!

You are also forced to draw everything, you can't just put in some letter like in MSN or whatever.

Nintendo showed off some rather fancy messaging with the WiiU and said that the Nintendo Network was also coming to 3DS. So I expect the Nintendo Network on 3DS may be improved when the WiiU is released.

Swapnote - it sends via local or Internet. You need to draw your messages though

2. How is the camera,is it good for like taking some videos and other?
you are far better off sticking with the iPhone or any other phone camera. The 3DS cam is only good for AR stuff

3. Are there online games such as coop platforming/ player vs player / strategy or something like that?
Resident Evil Revelations has raid mode, Mario Tennis (IP locked), Mario Kart 7 is amazing. Of course there are many other titles but I'm lazy


4. How is the Nintendo Network? Since Wii has no network and 3dS does (and WiiU will have it) how is it?
It's still in beta stage, but so far so good.

Kid Icarus does not have voice chat. The 3DS d-pad SUCKS, it's extremely stiff, the XL d-pad is far better.

I never had any problems and I played MKDS for 3 hours with my friends last night.... (lotsa power-sliding)

No no,you did not understand me.
I said i saw kid icarus and loved it,love the online.
And i really like Hero;s of Ruin which has voice chat too.


I dont mind the dpad,i dont like XL,size of the screen doesnt matter (im not one of those persons who first says how size doesnt matter and get the GBMicron,then go around n say how 3DS XL is better than 3ds because of the screen size)

I was watching reviews,i want 3DS normal one to put it in a pocket and stuff,i dont care about the battery life and as i said i wont be buying 3DS XL.
