Version 1.2 is now uploaded. I have tested this up to and including the 5th gym and have had no problems at all. If you find any bugs please let me know.
Hopefully it stays like that. Unfortunately,i can't play this now, because im not using my computer, and my R4 isnt with me.So yeah...

I'm very sorry I couldn't get it fixed in time for you D=

But yes, hopefully no more problems come up. But it should be good for a while.

This is an amazing project! Platinum is one of my favourite Pokémon games, it's nice to see someone finally hacking it in style!

Are you going to incorporate Pokémon changes as well? If Drayano is ok with it, you could port his SGSS changes over to Platinum, although it's probably better that you add your own personal touch and think of some other ideas for upgrading Pokémon stats, typing, etc.

I don't really want to change pokemon other than their evolutions. I dont want to change the tms and hms they can learn, their typing, or their level up movesets, because it will cause problems for anyone with flash carts wishing to trade and battle with people who have the actual game.

However, I think I have decided that instead of two difficulties, this game will have one difficulty. I will make the game harder. I also plan on changing all post-game areas so that the pokemon and trainers found there are going to continue level-wise from what levels the elite four had. Although I'll make them slightly lower.

I will use an increased level scale. I have also decided that the first Elite four battles will be against what the game's default second battle is(Cynthias garchomp will be level 78), and their second battle will be all level 100's and will be unlocked after catching Arceus, who requires you to have caught every other pokemon to catch.

I will also take out various trainers, while still making sure the player can see every Sinnoh Pokemon if they battle every trainer, and use their trainer battles to create battles against various champions, elite four members, etc. from previous games. I will also put in battles against teams made by people who have helped me with this game. These will also be all level 100 pokemon and require catching Arceus to fight, but you will be able to fight them an infinite amount of times. They will also be extremely challenging, as I will give them the highest AI that I can, highest IVs, and competitive movesets.

Those are my goals, and those are what I am currently working on.

I think I am also going to put in Barry from the Future who uses Palmer's battle sprite and says he realizes that when he was younger he wasn't the best Pokemon trainer, but through the years he became much better and used celebi to go back in time so that he could teach himself how to be a better pokemon trainer earlier on. I will probably also make his team level 100 and he will require the capture of Arceus to fight.

I was trying to think of what to do with Pal Park. Not sure what I would want to do with it, let alone how I would make the changes... But I'll think of something.

Game Update: Future Barry is officially going to be in the next game update. Once you catch Arceus, the Blonde Haired man behind Barry's house will reveal himself to be Barry from the future and challenge you to a Pokemon battle. You also can battle him an infinite amount of times. I haven't updated the game downloads, but I will once all of the challenge trainers are in and I fix some freezes I have recently found.

I will work on putting in all the other challenge trainers into the game for the next update. These will include:

Sinnoh Elite Four Second Round(the next update will raise the level curve. I will make only one difficulty.)
Kanto Gym Leaders
Blue
Lance
Steven
Wallace
Silver
Red
Drayano
Myself

Every challenge trainer will require having caught Arceus, will have all level 100 Pokemon, max IV's, max AI, competitive movesets, and if you want to fight me, you will need to have beaten every challenge trainer. Don't worry, I will make it so if you beat me, you will get a nice reward, and will get it every time you beat me.

I will also try to incorporate a story for each challenge trainer as to why they are in Sinnoh, just like I did for Barry. I am currently trying to get Drayano to make a story for himself, but he doesn't know what he wants it to be. =P

^ Can't wait to try out the next game update :)

It seems that every time I edit the script, new freezes appear in random places that I didn't even touch. So it might be a while. I'll have to do another test play.

For now though, the current game will be up, and if any freezes appear, I'll download the current game and fix them and repost the download links. That way you guys still have something to play while I am working on and testing the next update.

Another game update:

Red and Blue are now programmed into the next version as Challenge Battles. Note that all challenge battles require the player to have caught Arceus. The next version will take a while before it is released, as it will implement challenge battles, a higher level curve, more requirements to obtain the Azure flute, possibly some item location changes, and I will make sure that the version is tested before I release it so that I don't make the same mistake as before.

Remember, you will still be able able to play the current version of the game. If you find any bugs/freezes, let me know, as they will be the only updates I make on the currently released game until the next version is released.

Also, since I am starting school in a couple days, if any of you are willing to help test Version 2.0, please let me know. I'm not sure how much I'll be able to test on my own.

This looks like a great deal of fun.

I'll need testers for Version 2 to make sure the difficulty curve is balanced and works well, as well as flushing any bugs out. When I make my test playthrough, I will be using level 100's and will be only going where needed, so I won't be able to test the difficulty curve or see if the game freezes in places that you don't have to go.

I would try to test it with a legit playthrough, but with School starting in 36 hours, I won't really have the time to do so.

But if you would like to be a tester, please let me know via PM.

Update on game: Silver is now programmed into version 2 as a challenge battle. Challenge battles will require you to first catch every Pokemon, and will feature teams of 6 level 100 Pokemon with max IV's, highest AI possible, 4 full restores, and competitive movesets.

Making the challenge battles has been a great deal of fun if I do say so myself. Since I am going to put myself as a challenge trainer, I look forward to battling myself. Though, since the max AI in the game is still not as smart as humans and wouldn't do the same things that I do, it will probably be easier to fight the trainer that is supposed to be me than it would to actually fight me. XD

Here's hoping the AI actually uses Breloom effectively.

Just to let you all know, school has started and I have been fairly busy, so I will pretty much only be able to work on Origin Platinum on weekends and tuesdays. Well, and days that I don't have homework or other plans.

Because of this, I am actually going to go back to having two difficulties instead of one. This means that Version 1.5 will put in all of the challenge trainers I want to put in and a few more evolution changes. Version 2 will implement the harder difficulty but I won't be working on hard mode until my winter break.

But as far as Version 1.5 goes, what I plan on doing:
- I currently have 4 out of the planned 23 challenge trainers programmed into the update. I am tempted to put more. Maybe Sinnoh Gym Rematches. Not sure. Either way, even after catching every Pokemon, there will be a lot to do.
- The evolution changes I will make will make it so the pokemon that evolve by trading in the regular games won't just evolve at certain levels, but will also evolve if traded. For example, I am playing the game on my flash cart and I catch a ghastly and evolve it into Haunter. I want to evolve it into a Gengar, which in Origin platinum lets me evolve it without trading at level 38. But let's say my Haunter is level 28 and I don't want to wait until level 38 to evolve my Haunter. I will make it so you can still trade the Haunter to evolve it if one wants a Gengar earlier than level 38.
- I will probably go through and change all fishing and surfing pokemon encounters to be the same level range as pokemon in the grass in the same and surrounding areas. It sucks having level 45 Pokemon trying to catch a rare Pokemon when fishing and it shows up and its only level 5-15. So I would like to change this before I develop hard mode.
- If I think of any more, I will put in more references. It's hard coming up with good references on my own though. Really wish people would start suggesting more.

This looks awesome! You say you have tested up to the 5th gym... Is the game fully playable after that? This isn't in beta, right?

Originally, I had a freeze almost every area I went into up until hearthome city. After I fixed that, I didn't find any freezes at all. I figured 5 gyms would be a decent stopping point.

The reason I say that is because I am currently working on Version 1.5, which requires a lot of script edits. The script edits tend to make random areas freeze, so after I put in the V1.5 changes, I am going to have to go through and test again.

I probably should just call this a beta until someone gets through the entire game XD
