DON'T READ THIS IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED AGAIN AND PLAN TO PLAY IT!

I recently finished Again for DS and it really deserves a better rating than the crappy one from IGN. During the game Jonathan Weaver has flashbacks of his missing brother Danny. It becomes clear that he has been kidnapped and raised by Providence as part of a sick experiment.
In the epilogue Weaver gets a phone call from a shady person telling him, that there will be more Providence murders, the game ends then.

It seems that Cing planned a successor as it doesn't become clear who and where the person is, that called Weaver. It's obvious that this person is Danny, but where is he, what is his mindset and did he become a psychopath like Providence? Has the game perhaps a second end?

Crap. I bumped this thread because I can!

Nah, seriously, did the crappy scores prevent the majority from playing this game?

No but it became much of a forgettable game. I must admit some aspects of the game were nice such as glowy parts lol but last time I've checked Cing is out of business and who knows if there will be a sequel.

To be honest... this game was kinda poor compared to all Cing's other games.. The story was decent if you could stick around long enough to see the ending...
But the gameplay/dialogue was just so repetitive and boring that by the end of the game, I didn't really give a shit about any of the characters or plot anymore xD

Just my opinion. But I do agree it's still a fairly decent game and should be played if you're a fan of Cings other games

To the person above, I doubt there will be a sequel O___O

Sorry to bump this old thread.
Had this game for a long, never had time to play this game till the end.
So I also played this game till the end, I also enjoyed the story. as the first post already mentioned: the story will end with an open end. Which means there would be a sequal for this game. CiNG did indeed get bankrupt... so we could never expect a sequal... :(
After a bit of googling, I found on cubed3's website an interview with the producers of this game (Tecmo)
Adam Riley: Are there already plans for another Again game, or will you wait to see if the first one has strong sales?
Yamaguchi-san: Actually, I have the plot for the sequel in my mind already and it is so exciting! However, no one knows if it will become a reality just yet. All I can tell you now is that I'm just working hard to make "AGAIN: Season2" a reality.
AR: If you do a sequel to Again, would you prefer to continue on the DS or would you consider making a Wii version?
Yamaguchi-san: It's going to be on DS or on the next handheld after

I can start to cry now, since we will never know where Danny is and who the phonecall made :'(

I sincerely enjoyed Again DS and... seeing all the crappy reviews and bad scores it got makes me feel a bit embarrassed whenever I mention it, since it always seems like I'm the only one in the crowd who enjoyed it. Sure, they took a departure from their usual art style, but that doesn't make the game bad - it makes it stand out when compared to their other titles. The graphics were good for its time, the exploration part of the game was well-executed, the story was interesting, even if a bit cheesy... I liked it and I'd really love to see some bigger company buy the rights for Again, as well as Hotel Dusk and Another Code/Trace Memory. They're really good franchises that deserve to be continued.

Wow, looking at this old thread again after so long makes me feel a bit sad inside :<

Even though it wasn't one of their best games, it really sucks that Cing isn't around any more! Their games were all unique, and each of them (even Again) had some really unique ideas... I really hope their team someday gets involved in making more games like those :/

Oh and just in case you didn't know, there WAS a sequel to Another Code/Trace Memory on the Wii- it was Europe only (I bought it day-1 lol), but the Wii is super easy to hack so that shouldn't be a problem. If you have a Wii to begin with, that is xD

Slightly off-topic: That game "428"- I've heard a lot about it recently, but was it made by Cing too?? The art style (i.e. Using real people, not anime graphics) seems quite similar to 'Again'
And the whole premise of text-based mystery story seems really similar as well.. Dammit, why won't anyone localize this?!

EDIT: Oh no, it's developed by Chunsoft.. But dammit, those were the makers of 999! Nintendo could easily slap a "FROM THE MAKERS OF 999" on this and that would help the sales so much D: Why does no one give these games a chance... OTL

I know - I finished it and loved every bit of it. It's one of the rare titles that made the Wii really worth-while. :)

Do you guys think we can find and contact the producers of Again (Koichi Yamaguchi) and get at least the story about who the caller was and where Danny was and where he was all the time!? :P

Edit: Accourding to Firefox, www.tecmoinc.com has been reported as an "attack/infected page"? lol whut?
