Hacking R4i Gold Plus Stopped working!

I updated my r4i gold plus from r4ids.com and it wont even appear on my 3dsxl or DSL anymore no icon or anything how can i fix this and can i?

EDIT: By update i mean the .nds file you run on a DSL to update its firmware so it runs or a higher 3ds or dsi version

When you say you updated it, what do you mean the firmware or kernel?

Well i can see 2 likely options here

1. It has developed a contact issue, try the paper trick

2. You may of bricked it, did you follow the update procedure, i mean did it update fully without interuption to completion?

1. i tried this but it didnt work

2. yes i think so it said "update complete power off system" the card was showing up as a green four leaf clover with the game title "Konami Digital Entertainment" on my 3ds and DSL but now its showing up as nothing, a blank card on my 3ds and no game card inserted on my DSL

If you are absolutely sure that you did the firmware update correctly, try another microSD to rule out a microSD problem.

i put fresh kernal onto another sd card and it is still not appearing mabye i did update wrong what options do i have if i did?

If you are sure you done the paper trick correctly then it does sound like you've bricked it.

I think there is a method, i read a thread yesterday where jimmyemunoz described how to do it, i'll see if i can find it and link you to it.

I don't know, i haven't used that technique.

If your card is bricked, you aint got nought to lose anyway

well the firmware updater just freezez when i try to start it up with the bricked card in the system after loading it on my r4 origonal

oh well guess ill just order another one but i wont be getting this one again... its pretty crap if its going to do this after a day... :/

the exact same thing happened to me today.... but mine is a r4i 3ds gold from r4ids.cn. i did the update on my ds lite, no error/interuption or anything like that. but after the update icon doesnt appear anymore? and i downloaded it from here, the one for r4i 3ds gold of course. http://r4ids.cn/r4i-download-e.html

list of things ive tried:
-different systems, 3ds, ds lite, ds phat
-5 different microsd
-paper trick
-using the panasonic formatter

thinking about giving up and picking up another cart, ive did some reasearch, was leaning toward a acekard 2i, then i saw people complaining about slow updates/contact issues. any other suggestion? if none i'll probably give in and just get a dstwo.

Sounds like the update didn't apply properly, yeah you'll need a new cart.

update from my previous post:
ok so i decided to pick up a dsi xl cuz it was on sale for $109, the weird thing is the r4i gold 3ds(r4ids.cn) works on the new dsi xl, but not the rest of my systems(3ds,ds lite, ds phat).

so i decided to try the paper trick again, this time i made it thicker and it almost got stuck in the ds lite/ds phat slot, so i dont think its contact issue. its not the systems problem since my real game carts work fine on them. anyone know or heard of this issue? i know my dstwo is already on the way, but it would be nice to fix this too for friends to use. thanks
